  • Paint on mah bumper..

Just bought a truck yesterday for cheap to drive to/from work and what not. There's of course some flaws but a major one is what looks to be paint on the rear bumper. Looks as if a gallon of beige paint tipped over in the bed and dripped out on to the bumper then to the ground.

Any suggestions to remove this? I was using some APC+ on the interior today and sprayed a little on the bumper just to see if it'll move and it did to a certain extend so there is hope. It's a black plastic Tundra bumper btw. TIA!!

Could do more of that... could clay it, Goo Gone, Bug and Tar, etc.....

Ok, so claying would work? Maybe take an exhausted clay bar to it.

Well... it may or may not... but pretty easy to try on a spot and see.

One would often use a paint cleaner if it was on paint, but really cant on those textured bumpers. But, you can be a little more agressive as well with APC's, scrubbing, etc.

If the goo gone does not work. The apc removed some you say. Was that at the 10:1 ratio. Maybe you could try the apc at a 4:1 ratio on a test spot. Good luck to you.

I was in Lowe's checking out Turpentine, Lacquer Thinner and other solvents over the weekend and saw 2 new products for removing paint. Both were in aerosol cans. Don't remember the brand but it was some guy's name and definitely unique.

Have to go to Lowe's for some supplies and I'll get the exact name of the product and post it to the forum.
