First, we got 1/2" of sleet, which was promptly topped with an inch of snow and another layer of sleet. Yesterday, the freezing rain started at 10 A.M. and ended at about 3 A.M. this morning. After the freezing rain, we got six inches of snow (double the amount expected).
Most of the city is without power. Even the offices for the power
company are without power. We didn't lose ours, but you could see power
flashes in the distance late last night.
All I can say is that i am thoroughly jealous. I live in Delaware. We got probably our biggest snow of the year the night before yesterday ad it was maybe a half inch, which turned into ice, sleet, and then rain today while its 45 degrees out. Just keep the car out of the salt!
What a winter... we have had a lot of snow here in Iowa as well, not last night but in general over the winter and some brutally cold days/nights. Everyone was saying we would be getting a break on our heating bills this winter but I have spent more than ever this snowy season, just too much wind and way too cold!!! At one point it was the coldest its been for 15 years. YuCk!!
Beautiful pictures. I wouldn't mind a couple of weeks in snow like that.

Bite your tongue, sir!!!
I grew up in that stuff and wouldn't trade today's sunny 70 degree weather for a minute of that. A quick trip to our local mountains serves the purpose if I ever do feel the need. But even just a single day of that fluffy white stuff results in days, potentially weeks even, of salt covered roads, dirt, grime and all sorts of nastiness all over the car.
Sure does look pretty when it's all fresh and new though.

Amen! It seriously looks and feels like spring here. Mike can vouch for that. I keep forgetting it's so cold back east.

I couldn't take seeing my Camry in that condition.
I have to leave it overnight at the dealers tonight because a rear wheel sensor won't be in until tomorrow. This is the first time it has not been garaged since I purchased it. I keep imagining door dings and scratches.

Why do we drive on a Parkway, and park on a Driveway
Those pics were great. From what I have been hearing it really has been a brutal winter for you guys. Being a transplanted Midwesterner, the only time I miss the snow is on Christmas morning. Stay warm guys.
