Re: What Kind of Windshield Wipers Do You Use?

IMO Anco and Trico are junk can't get 6 months out of them till they get hard and make noise.
About a year ago I bought Rain-X and they are still working geat.

Compared to years ago ALL blades are **** they no longer use 100% rubber

I've got Bosch now and have used RainX in the past. Just like they say they're all good for about 6 months.

I use Collinite 845 IW on the windshield and some Michelin wipers I got on clearance at Target a few months back. Little choppy at times, but considering the Collinite beads the water and it rolls off in the wind, I use the wipers less. It's an even trade, but I really like the extreme beading on the glass during a heavy downpour.

Anyone that has a Volvo S70/850 knows that it has two wiper settings.
        1. Light mist / drizzle
        2. Hurricane style rain storm

Maybe they don't get much rain in Sweden? Either way, I still like the car.

Re: What Kind of Windshield Wipers Do You Use?

I had Michelin's on my Taurus SHO, and also on my Explorer. I took them off the Explorer b/c they chattered too much on the highway, and really weren't the best in the winter. The long wipers on the SHO lost the edges on the highways as well, and flopped around a bit, even with the wind blade on the SHO wiper arm. Need to be careful with the Michelins (not sure on the others) as the plastic edges will chip and break off if you let them smack the window at all (even from a few inches) when putting wiper arms back down.

I went back to regular metal framed wipers on my Explorer, and like them much better.

Good to hear the triple-edge last so long; just got some frameless, ****** blades - not sure brand, but got from Advanceautoparts... seem to work very well, but were pretty pricey.

Got some Duralast ones from AutoZone. What a mistake that was. The "universal fit" clip is total garbage, and doesn't fit all cars. Went to Kragen/Orielly and got Trico ExactFit instead.

Bosch Icon blades with RainX orange washer fluid on my Colorado and wife's Escape. Rarely use the wipers on my truck except in the winter on the highway.

Has anyone noticed if Autozone (or was it Advance Auto Parts?) is doing the 2 for 1 pricing on Bosch Wipers this fall like they have the last couple of years?

I have the Trico "snap to fit" blade refills on my car, but I don't like them.

The best blades I've ever used were the OEMs from Dodge. Used to get the whole blade & refill for $5 there, but not anymore.

I've been suing Rain-X Latitude wipers on my vehicles for 3 years now and are the best wiper blade I've ever used.

For what is worth, the July 2010 Consumer Reports rates them in this order:
                                1) Valeo 600 Series
                                2) RainX Latitude
                                3) Anco 31 Series
                                4) Michelin RainForce
