  • Another Ultimate Quik Wax Review (Pictures)

I had some extra time after school. So I took it upon myself to go to Advanced Auto Parts. I was hoping for Ultimate Quik Wax after reading about it. It was a success!!! And just to note they had all of the paint products, such as Scratch X 2.0, UQW etc. I used it. Just to point out, at first I was mad at Meguiars For making the bottle so small. But then I realized two things; one being it would be too close to the size of UQD and because you do not use that much, and it is not meant to be used like a QD. Unfortunately for me this makes another good product from Meguiars and more money to spend. (Not really a bad thing)

    Smell:
    Fruity Hamster Treats
    Fruit Captain Crunch

    Consistency:
It was very liquidy, kind of like a Quik Detailer

    Application:
It applied very easily and wiped off well. Again kind of like a Quik Detailer. Also since it was cold I was expecting the application to be hindered. It took only 15 Minutes to do the entire truck.

I origanlly used the applictor pad, but soon realized that the product was more liquid than I anticipated and was not like a liquidy wax.

    Before:

    Afters:

    Thanks for reading.
I think the UQW did add some depth and clarity to the reflections.
As for the wax part, we will have to see in a couple of days.
    I hope this helps.

Looks good. So you did not apply it like Mike P did in his thread and just sprayed it on then wiped off?

looks great Joel!, I thought the same thing about the bottle size at first but came to the same conclusion as you did. You will be amazed how long it lasts!

        02zx9r,
I applied it like the directions said, spray on to the paint and then wipe off with a microfiber towel. I just originally applied to the applicator, because I saw in another thread on Spray Waxes you were supposed to use a applicator. So that is why I used an applicator. Sorry if what I said now and origanally was misleading.

Thanks for the reply. No misconception or nothing, just wanted to make sure I understood how you applied it. I have the uqd and apply it the same way you did the wax.
I have aqua wax and like that, but I do want to try this out too

You Apply It Just Like a QD.

                Nice job

Interesting comparisons to the smell lol

I just ordered some off of ADS.

They have those exact MF Towels you were using at my Target. They look like standard home towels, but are MF. How do you like them?

                  I like them.
They are the same size as SS, and have a similar feel.
I would have used a Meguiars SS but I already had this one out to dry DA Pads.

Hey Joel, i noticed in the second picture your tires look freshly dressed, did you redress them or is it the same application you used when you did that full detail on your truck recently. ASD you used right?

Wow, I'll look forward to the UQW once it's available here. One stupid question: Is there a NXT 2.0 spray wax?

I've double checked on this topic of using it like a quick detailer or letting it dry to a haze first and you can spray on, spread around and wipe off and you'll get great gloss and good protection. For best protection you want to let the product dry to a haze before removing.

That said, I personally use it like a quick detailer because it hazes pretty quickly.

There is a NXT Spray Wax but it is not a formula based upon NXT 2.0

I've used this on 2 cars so far, and I used it like a QD. Both cars were silver, so it's harder to see when the product is hazed, both came out looking great. I'll have to give the rest of my old spray wax away, since I won't be using it anymore.
