  • Newbie-do I need any additional product?

Hello all and thanks in advance for your help. I've been lurking for awhile, and have already learned alot. Although the amount of information is overwhelming.

I recently bought a green 1999 F150. The paint doesnt look too bad, but it does have swirling and some nasty scratches. Some of the the scratches are down to metal but I feel the majority can be corrected using the methods I've been reading about here.

Here is the arsenal I've purchased.

    Porter Cable 7424
    Yellow Cutting Pad
    White Polishing Pad
    Blue Finessing Pad
    Red Ultrasoft Wax/Sealant Foam Pad
    Cobra Indigo Microfiber Polishing Cloth
    Meguiars Ultimate Compound
    Meguiars Mirror Glaze #205
Meguiars Mirror Glaze #105 new formula for DA
    Scratch X

If I am succesful, what products do you suggest for final steps..wax etc.

Nxt 2.0 is a great wax. Dont foget clay, and you'll probably want more than one of each pad. And a good soap of course.

Then something like UQD or UQW for after future washes.

That's quite an arsenal for just starting out!

Any of our waxes and paint sealants will work to protect the paint and make it look great, NXT Tech Wax is our best protecting product and easy to find at most auto parts stores.

If you haven't already, give these both a read through,

Thanks. Yes I will clay and I have more than one pad. I'll try the wax you suggested.

I attempt to post some pictures too when I make some progress. Hopefully this weekend.

            Thanks Mike.

Yes it is quite an arsenal (wife will kill me) but I just wanted to make sure I had the right tools for the job.
