how do you use 80 and 83 with rotary? what speed, steps, i usually go 600(2steps)-900(2steps)-1500(3-4steps)-900(3steps) same i use with 105 , but with 105 i get better results than 80 and 83 with same method. i may apply 83 and 80 wrong...
    thank you!

what kind of pads are you using with the different products...results rely largely on pad and product choice...105 with the pad your using could be a good combo, but the same pad with 80 or 83 not so much...

i would say thought that 80 and 83 are more an aggressive polish where as 105 is a compound...so it make sense that you would get better scratch results with the 105 then with the 80 and 83....

when i use 80-83 i tend not to go over 1600-1800 i start with 900 to spread then go to 1200 for first couple of passes then go to 1600 for the last few passes, then back to to 900 to polish a little...

same with 105 but i dont go over 1500 with the 105 because it is a heavier compound

For a general speed setting, stay around 1500 RPMs for both products using a rotary and any pad you're using.

      What are you working on?

I use M80 pretty much 90%+ of the time I'm detailing.... it's a good cutting as well as finishing polish when paired with the right pad... I mostly use it on Meg's 8006 and 9006 pads but sometimes on LC white and LC PFW... regardless of pad choice, process is almost always the same...

        1 pass @ 600 to spread
1 pass @ 900 to spread some more (when wanting it to be more aggressive, I use little pressure)
1 pass @ 1200 to lightly polish (a bit more pressure when I need it to be more aggressive)
2 passes @ 1500 to polish/correct (no pressure to heavy pressure depending on your goals)
after 1500 I step down in 1/4 increments on my Makita, so from speed 3, which is 1500, I'll go to 2.75, which should be about 1350, then 2.5... so...
1 pass @ 1350 (very little to no pressure)
        1 pass @ 1200 (no pressure)
1 or 2 last passes @ 900 to finish (no pressure)
