I just read an article that talked in generic terms about WHEEL SEALANT I can only assume it was referring to a clearcoat spray,which i use on occasion,is there some other product they could be referencing?

Yes, just a wax or synthetic sealant type of product.
Some companies make products they call a "Wheel Wax". But that is similar to using Nxt, etc.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue -
