Do you wash your MF Towels before first use?

I'm just wondering if you guys wash your MF towels before the first use or do you just use them right from the package? Most body towels I use don't really work well until after they have been washed and I'm just wondeering if we should do that for our MF

I have heard that you should wash the water magnets before use to have them work better.

I chose right after I open the package, which is also before the first use. I do this so any particles or debris on the microfiber should come off, reducing the risk of putting in scratches and swirls.

I wash my towels prior to use (MF or Terry).

I wash my brand towels before the first use. Do not know whats on them. This way I know they are clean no softeners, dust etc.

I remove the tags and wash before use.

It depends. If they are high quality sealed towels like Griots Garage or the Ultimate Wipe, than I use them. But if they are any other towel that is store bought I have to wash them. There always seems to be some spill that auto section and that product ends up in every towel and they are greasy.

Wash before use and remove any tags.
This removes any debris and "breaks in" the fabric.

Invaluable advice, I guess I'll change my habits. I would break the package, look over the towels to make sure nothing was hiding in the fibers, then go to town. But I can see where washing the towels before use would make sense - especially after I accumulated lint on my DA pads using a new terry cloth while trying to clean on the fly...

as long as the MF I buy came in a plastic package, I use them directly :]

I wash first to remove any residue and then dry them so they fluff up

I've bought towels sealed in plastic and found them loaded with debris after opening the package. That convinced me to wash before the first use regardless

From when they are made, to packaging and then through transit it's possible they can pick up dirt and debris (who's to say they weren't dropped on the ground at some point) and could possibly lint as well. So washing them first before use is ideal.

rip open the bag & start using em.... cheap MF or the more expensive MF...never had an issue
