Quik Detailer the same as Ultimate Quik Detailer ?

Can I clay my car using Ultimate Quik Detailer? because I ran out of the supplied Quik Detailer.

I believe you can, but I suggest running to the store and grabbing some QD because UQD isn't worth the cost to use it as clay lube.(something in the back of my minds thinks you can't use it as lube, but I'm not positive, I'll wait for others to say so)

No, UQD will not work in place of Quik Detailer. There are a lot of threads on this topic. Try reading through these:

use regular quick detailing spray, not uqd.

or use last touch 1:1

Please do not use uqd for the clay lube. Buy another bottle of qd or if you have Last touch, you can dilute this 1:1 for a lube.

On top of the fact that you can't use UQD as a clay lube, do you really want to use a $10 bottle of UQD to clay? I think almost everybody would agree that it would be a waste of money.

i use the regular clay lube 1:1 with water, and LT 1:1 for clay lube

Last Touch 1:1 and NXT Speed Detailer are my favorite clay lubes.

You can use a touch of carwash soap in water and a spray bottle

i know this is an old thread, but what is the reason you can't use UQD for clay lube? other than price of course.

It is too slick and will not allow the clay to pick up the contamination properly.

I read the ONR, with the right dilution, can be used as clay lube.
This is probably more economical than the regular QD.

i see. that makes sense. i used some UQD the other day as clay lube (before looking on here first). i didn't think that it was picking up as much as i thought it should. the bright side is that i only clayed half of my tail gate. i wanted to get a 50/50 of how my tailgate was going to look after clay/polish/wax.
