Thursday nights are focused on hands-on training and then turning people loose on their own cars to find out how easy it is to create a show car finish with a little education on good technique and choosing the right product for the job.

What kind of pad is Michael Stoops using with the DeWalt? Wool?
Yep. That's the original paint on a 1987 Pontiac Firebird - single stage white. The car sat outside for a couple of years but the paint looked as though it had been washed with a Brillo pad. Repeatedly. Single stage white tends to be extremely hard because the pigment used is titanium dioxide. Couple that with the fact the paint was also badly dried out, and we chose M95 Speed Cut Compound over M105 Ultra Cut due to the slightly wetter nature of the product. It just seemed to play nicer with this paint.
So we ran M95 on a W4000 Cut ‘N Shine wool pad at 1500rpm. It made a huge improvement, but that car is going to need days of work to really bring it back.
