        Re: ! WARNING !

Mike damaged my car to the tune of $150.00 then kippered out leaving me to hold the bag .

I contacted Meguiar's several times and was told they'd make good but after all this time they've stopped responding to my queries .

        BEWARE .

I find that very hard to believe. I have had a relationship with Meguiars for more than 15 years and Mike is a personal friend of mine for more than five.

I know both to be of the utmost character.

So your saying both would risk damaging their reputations for a for a petty $150!

            Hi Nate,

I was sent this link right after you posted it from a friend and only read the second page so I wasn't sure what the thread was even about and then sent you a PM.

After the PM I clicked to the first page and saw that it was about your old Nash Metropolitan that we restored the finish to, this one,

And then I remembered that while buffing out the extremely oxidized and neglected finish that I caught the rotary buffer next to the driver's side mirror and if memory serves me correctly the mirror glass broke?

I looked on eBay for a replacement for a couple of weeks and couldn't find one and then I must apologize as it was at this time I left Meguiar's and my personal life got very busy as I transitioned from Meguiar's in California to Autogeek in Florida.

I apologize that your mirror fell off my radar screen but I'm not sure how a side mirror for this car could cost $150.00

Are you saving you bought a side mirror for your Nash and you paid $150.00? If you did, I'll send you a check today to cover that cost as I am responsible for the damage and I did forget to follow-up after initially looking very hard for a replacement. (my bad)

You can also call me about this instead of posting this to the MOL forum on my cell at 760-515-0444

It was really great that you let us restore the finish on your car and again I apologize that during the process that your mirror was broke. It was an accident and I did sincerely try to locate a replacement.

I know Metro Ma, the President of the Nash Metropolitan club in SoCal and I'll ask her for a favor to see if she can find you a replacement since we also restored the finish on her car in these two threads.

Looking forward to your phone call...

                Re: Damage

I found it hard to believe too as I know use and highly recommend Meguiar's products and have been for over 25 years now .

Mike simply stopped responding to my queries as did the next Meguairs empoyee I contacted , he admitted he knew my claim was legitimate then he put me off a few times then stopped responding altogther .

I too was flabbergasted to discover the price of this unobtanium part but yes , I have replaced it , no I couldn't afford the correct part but I now have a suitable mirror on my car and a lesson learned .

Shame on you and Meguiar's for simply ignoring my repeated pleas for help , I'm just a working schmoe , single parent who has to watch ever dang penney coming or going .

                I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND MEGUIAR'S PRODUCTS .

I no longer want you to send me any $$ , I am good to go .

I have been doing salvage - reconstruct on old beaters for over 40 years now and I've been using Meguiar's excellent products for 25 + years but until Thursday I never knew how to PROPERLY use them ! .

This old red car looked ready for the crusher , it has a 10 year old $200.00 paint job on it , Mike and the rest of the crew REALLY know the details of doing this correctly ~ I am sure there's many out there who , like me , buy old klunkers and tinker them back to health , rub out the paint and kiss 'em goodbye ~ try following all the step by step instructions Meguiar's gives you and you'll be FLABBERGASTED at how nice it comes out !

This Metropolitan is my personal car , I never imagined it could look so nice .

Kudos and a big THANK YOU ! to all who helped make this happen !

Although the mirror got broke, (an accident), and I did drop the bag on finding you a replacement, I'm glad you liked how your car turned out.

I've sent an e-mail to the SoCal Nash Metropolitan Club asking for help to locate you a replacement mirror as well as an e-mail to Jacqui aka Metro Ma and I'm confident that we can find you a replacement ASAP just in case you don't like the one you bought for $150.00

                  Hang tight....

Just to note, when I left Meguiar's I was no longer able to receive any e-mail at my Meguiar's e-mail address.

I'll send you the $150.00 anyway because it's important to me to make sure you're not out the $150.00 for the mirror. No need to blame anyone at Meguiar's for this as it was my fault.

Just PM me your mailing address and the check will be in the mail or if you have a PayPal account I can PayPal you the $150.00 today.

                    Sorry Nate...

A little research would show that Mike had left Meguiar's shortly after this makeover. He not only changed jobs, but physically moved 3,000 miles from California to Florida.

Mike has never stopped posting on MOL, I would have just PM'd him directly.

High marks and kudo's to Mike for taking care of this; researching for the correct Metro mirror as well offering to reimburse Nate for the money he spent.

Love those VW bugs! Great job guys. That paint looked pretty dull on the Nash. shined up really well.

I just wanna know how mike keeps his black clothes clean while buffing and polishing.
