Ouch, that does look pretty bad! Dont beat yourself up to bad though man, this will soon be a funny story you can tell everyone about it and laugh. It looks pretty bad but really should come out quite nicely. I would take up Seth on his offer and pick up some tips while with him. Take some pics when you get it done for us

I'd like to see one myself.

He'd clayed the car recently so the back panel was washed, then the damaged area wetsanded with 1500, 2500 and finished with 3000. All Meg's Unigrit.

It was done this way because I didn't want to get anywhere near the lower emblem letters with the rotary and knew I would have to do some of it by hand. In fact, the light was failing due to storm clouds rolling in; I told him he may have to come back later for a bit more hand compounding if any hazing reveals itself that I may have missed. I really should have gotten one of the shop fluorescent trouble lights out.

Next step was M95 with the rotary/Meg's wool pad and then by hand in the area near the letters. Then D151 on a G110 with a 2.0 finishing pad and then topped off with M21 2.0.

It came out nicely, even if it turns out it may need a light touch up when he sees it in the bright sun. A few mentioned the soft nature of the Infinity paint so I didn't want to use too much pressure with the rotary nor wanted to get near the "S K Y L I N E" letters on the bottom which were added by the owner post factory. I'm hoping he'll post a photo.

Couldnt thank Seth1066 enough for the work he did. Came out perfect. He knows his **** when it comes to this stuff. He taught me more about car care in an hour and a half than i learned in the 25 years of my life. On top of it all he is a really nice guy that my girlfriend and I enjoyed hanging out and shooting the **** with. Couldnt have asked for a better experience. I was a little warry letting someone touch my car that i had never met before, and really had only exchanged a few PM's with, but within minutes of meeting him i knew my car was in good hands.

I will be taking and posting some pics of the job well done when i get home from work today.

To anyone that is lucky enough to get advice from Seth1066......LISTEN TO IT!!! And if you live in the NOVA/DC metro area, give him a shout out and hang out with him.....really cool guy. Ill def be stopping by the shop to hang out more often since its only 2 miles away from where i live.

                    Once again.....thanks Seth1066

Hey all. I'm from G35driver.com and bina12834 had wonderful things to say about this forum. It's not every day someone will go out of their way to help someone without expecting something in return. Hats off to the members here and to seth1066 for the assistance. I'm waiting for pics to pe posted as well to see the results.

I have always been a huge fan of Maguiar's products and will look to this forum from time to time for advice.
