Chat Room

now guys, first off, i know this has been discussed previously, HOWEVER, i feel a chat room in here would be a great added benefit, as we could have live conversations with one another on whatever is on our minds. Im on many other forums where the chat room is a HUGE hit and makes getting to know people and conversing easy as pie.

Just some food for thought.

Seeing that you currently use AIM, MSN, ICQ, and Skype, why would you want to more communication medium? Do you use those all at once?

But I think live chats are hard to regulate. People could get into wax wars, which would eventually turn to political and religious arguments, and moderators may not be present to control the chatters.

Trust me, many online discussions on drag races caught on tape and magazine-based performance figures turn into religious arguments. A wax debate, if not controlled, would as well.

I think the point of the chat is that it is not regulated and not sponsored or run by the related Forum.

In the other forum of which I am a member, 8thCivic, we have a simple chat room called "8thcivic" on AIM, and a few of us would go in there anytime and talk about whatever was on our minds, whether car-related or not. Most often it was just casual chat about our daily happenings, and other times it was just fooling around or asking specific questions about window tint or whatever...the benefit being, most people in there had different knowledge in different niches of this enthusiast realm and could answer questions immediately due to the nature of a chat room .

All you had to do was log into AIM, one-click your own name on your buddy list, press ALT+C, then type in "chat 8thcivic" in the chat room name box, and voila you were in . If no one was in the room, well you would now be the only one in it. If people were already in the room, then you would simply join them.

Unfortunately, that chat room has probably since died down, as less and less people would come, but it was a fun place to go when bored or when we wanted to check for answers that the forum wasn't providing,

Mike, the problem I see with that is the fact Meguiar's more than likely doesn't want to be associated with vulgar language, arguments, wax wars, religious debates, etc. Having a chat room with their name on it immediately associates them with that chat room and everything that goes on in it.

We dont need it, have been on other forums with chat rooms and they are nothing but a Gripe fest !
