  • better but needs more work

I've been meaning to get some pics but just got around to it tonight.

this was on a 95 saturn. it had swirl marks and a ton of light scratches. I tried a test spot with SwirlX and the light scratches were still there. so I decided to step up to ultimate compound with a yellow pad. this is the most aggressive combo I have for now. I made a few passes on the hood but only 1 on most the car.

there are still a few scratches that didnt come out. some I wasnt expecting to come out (like that one by the door handle LOL).

I ordered some M105 and SoftBuff 2.0 cutting pad. should I try that next, or do you think I need better technique with UC?

The scratches in all 3 of those pictures look to be completely through the color coat to me. No polish or compound can fix that- only adding paint can.

Not sure if you had other scratches that the UC didn't work on that just weren't pictured, so I will clarify the answer to your question once we get that straightened out.

They look to be through....too deep. The pic in the middle looks like it could be down to the metal. As Mark said...touch up with paint is the only practical alternative.
