Planning to purchase the grit guard but is the grit guard one size fits all?

Yes, the Grit Guard fits in any normal 5-gallon bucket.

Perhaps in addition to the Grit Guard you can try this tip from Rod Kraft:

      Take two 5 gallon buckets

drill small holes in the bottom of one

take that bucket and slip inside the other

Now you have protection against grit contaminating your water

I bet if you couple that with a Grit Guard you'll have some serious protection!

I don´t have access to a Grit Guard in Mexico. Is there a way I can build one? Is it plastic or aluminum?

I don't have one either but I'm getting by just fine with this 2 bucket method I mentioned above.

            Thank You Bill D.
I´ll try your method. I guess you have to drill a lot of holes!

I like the suggestion... but would some of the dirt/sand sit on top of the flat surfaces in between the holes?

That´s what I thought, and the only solution is to drill A LOT of holes.

I don´t mean to hijack this thread, but I have been looking for a grit guard for a long time. When I read this post today I got a lot of ideas, so I went out looking for something similar to use and this is what I found.[IMG]http://archive.meguiarsonline.com

I think that may go particularly well with the two bucket-one drilled in the bottom inside the other method
