  • Q.I.D. vs Natural Shine

I usually use Quik Interior Detailer to clean the surfaces in my car. Recently, I started having to park my car in a sunnier place so I decided to buy some Natural Shine because of its protecting properties. However, I noticed that Q.I.D. also says that it has UV protection. I also noticed that Natural Shine has a little cleaning ability. So what's the main difference between the 2? Thanks.

Natural Shine will give you better protection than QID. NS is a low gloss dressing already but QID leaves an almolst matte finish.

You can use QID on a daily basis if you want to, but only use Natural Shine when you want to apply an actual protectant, be that monthly or every other month or whenever.

Natural Shine, and it's glossy sister, Supreme Shine, are full blown vinyl/plastic/rubber dressings that provide good cleaning ability along with UV protection and some, well, moisturizers for lack of a better way to put it.

QID will just give you the cleaning and UV protection.

If you relate them to similar steps on your paint, Natural Shine would be like your wax and QID like your UQD. The "quik" is a great product but not a replacement for a proper protection step.

You can always use some M40 or HyperDressing for a good looking interior.

I usually use QID to clean the dashboard, and Natural Shine as the protectant on top of it.. :]

For my interior, I have been using the following products with great results.

              1. MIRROR GLASE VINYL & RUBBER CLEANER; 5-6 times per year.
              2. GOLD CLASS LEATHER CLEANER & CONDITIONER; 2-3 times per year.

Thanks guys. I just used both products to spice up my interior a bit. I noticed that I needed to put a generous amount of Natural Shine on the towel to get the uniform application that I was looking for.

Like with the spray waxes, it definately helps to have your appicator a little moist. Dont keep using a new piece of cloth.

Is there any difference between QUI and Natural Shine when using them on a surface like a steering wheel, where you do not want it to be greasy/slippery?

Quik Interior Detailer would be a better choice for your steering wheel.

The new products would definately be better for a steering wheel that the old dressings.

But still better to do a test spot first. My wheel is very textured, so a dressing is ok, and it doesnt get slick.

I much prefer the matte look and do not worry much about UV protection; consequently, I tend to stick ti QID or 1Z Cockpit Premium. But my car is not exposed to the sun all hours of the day.
