  • Follow up 105 with something other than 205?

I have some 80 and 82...would either of these work to follow up 105? I dont know why...guess I was being cheap,(plus I still have a crapload of the other products) but I didn't order 205 when I ordered my 105 and I wanna try it out asap. FWIW, I bought the new version that is DA approved. Thanks guys

Yes, if you find you need something after M105, #80 would be a fine choice.

On harder paints, I find myself using UC to follow-up M105 usage.

M205 would work, but then I'd rather do ONE pass of UC rather than two or three passes of M205 to remove the ripples, holograms, swirls, caused by M105.

I once followed-up M105 with SwirlX on someone else's car. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between SwirlX and M205. In fact, SwirlX has noticeibly more oil content in it, making the finish look nicer when compared side by side with M205. Don't flame me if I am wrong. I am speaking from my own perspective.

I considered M80, but since I am not working in a bodyshop environment, I find UC simply makes sense due to its much lower cost.

Some people even use D151 after applying M105... It has the cut, the cleaners, and the protection...

Since you already have #80, go ahead and follow up your#105 with it.

M205 was made to follow up after M105. That's where best results are expected.

To answer "what is a good alternative to M205", it would be helpful to know if we are talking about rotary, DA, or hand application? And was the M105 applied by rotary?
