  • Last Touch vs. Quick Detailer

I have a bottle of the Quick Detailer that came with the smooth surface clay kit. How different is this from the last touch, if I wanted to buy a 32oz or gallon?

If you buy LT by the gallon you can use it at 1:1. Last Touch is also going to have the edge in lubricity.

I agree, go with a gallon of Last Touch. It's about $15 for the gallon, which makes 2 gallons of clay lube. Much easier on the wallet than QD. If you want a slick detailer, you can also use LT straight.

Also, M34 (Final Inspection) is the gallon version of QD if you are wanting more of the same product. You cannot dilute it, comes ready to use.

I dilute the LT about 1 part distilled water, 2 parts LT, and it works just like QD. I use it in the QD bottle too (which I really like the sprayer on). Overall I'm pretty happy with the LT, especially for the price, given that I go through so much of it living next to a burned mountain which covers the cars in ash/dust every day.

M34 is the same as QD??

Due to the way they are marketed, I was under the impression M34 was somehow a step up from QD.
So the "best" spray on / wipe off cleaner and clay lube is LT?

Similar, but not identical. M34 is the only one of our mist & wipe products that is body shop safe, so if you're in an environment where fresh paint is being sprayed and you need a clay lube or something to remove dust on a regular basis, M34 is your product of choice.

I think the M34 is a step-up of QD and M34 Final Inspection is Body Shop safe....

here in Indonesia, detailers choose LT over M34 because the price is cheaper.. :]

I am looking at Last Touch, how long does a gallon last? Wondering if I should get a gallon or the 5-gallon.

I think I will buy the gallon of the M34 and either refill the QD bottle or use the meguiars mirror glaze bottle. Some people like the QD bottle sprayer.

                    One more question.

Should I get the regular spray nozzle or the foaming spray nozzle?

If you are a professional detailer I would get the 5-gallon. It depends on the purpose but Meguiar's recommends to use it undiluted for QDing purposes and I could see a gallon going pretty quick if you're QDing several cars a day/week. I have a gallon now and I only do a couple cars every so often and it's going down much quicker now that I use it undiluted.

IMO, go with the regular sprayer. It will produce the mist you're after when QDing. Plus, you can adjust the spray pattern to your liking.

Agreed, you don't want the foaming sprayer for a non-foaming product.

Gotcha - so is the "mystery ingrediant" missing from M34 just silicone?
