I found this on Autogeek. I thought it might be helpful for anybody who might need it. The link is: http://www.auto-geek.net/charts/buffing-pad-chart-lc.htm

    Description Properties

Pad Size Backing Plate Products Part #
    Compounding,
    Swirl Removal
    Purple Wool Pad
Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and older finishes. Always follow this pad with an orange or white pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply compounds and swirl removers, such as Optimum Compound, Meguiars Diamond Cut Compound #85, and Menzerna Super Intensive Polish. LC-58-4265

    Yellow CSS Cutting Foam Pad
Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and older finishes. Always follow this pad with an orange or white pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply compounds and heavy cut swirl removers, such as Optimum Hyper Compound, XMT Heavy Duty Swirl Remover 4, and Menzerna Power Gloss Compound. LC-78-54650DA

Orange CSS Light Cutting Foam Pad
Firm, high density foam for scratch and defect removal. Use this pad with polishes and swirl removers. It’s an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply moderate swirl removers and light compounds. Examples are XMT Intermediate Swirl Remover, Menzerna Intensive Polish, and Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover. LC-78-24650DA
Polishing White CSS Polishing Foam Pad
Less dense foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply polishes, prewax cleaners, polishes, and light swirl removers. Examples are Optimum Polish, Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish, and XMT Fine Swirl Remover. LC-78-64650DA

    Green CSS Polishing/Finishing Foam Pad
Use this foam to apply one-step cleaner waxes. It is a balance of polishing and finishing that is perfect for all-in-one product application.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply polishes, light swirl removers, prewax cleaners, and cleaner waxes. Examples are XMT 360, Poorboys SSR 1, and Menzerna Nano Polish. LC-78-34650DA
Finishing Gray CSS Finishing Foam Pad
Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of paste and liquid waxes, sealants, and glazes.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply waxes, prewax cleaners, sealants, and glazes. Examples are DP Max Wax and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. LC-78-74650DA

    Blue CSS Finessing Foam Pad
The blue pad has soft composition for applying glazes, sealants, and liquid waxes. The finessing pad provides full contact with paint surface to minimize the pressure applied by the user.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Apply waxes, sealants, and glazes. Examples are Pinnacle Liquid Souveran and Meguiars Hand Glaze. LC-78-94650DA

Red CSS Ultrasoft Wax/Sealant Foam Pad
This soft, imported foam is ideal for applying the final coat of wax or sealant. The foam works especially well when applying liquid waxes or sealants because it is firm enough to keep the majority of the product on the paint, rather than soaking it up. The red foam has no cut or cleaning ability.
6.5" 5 or 6 inch Flexible Backing Plate Use glazes, sealants, and liquid waxes. Examples include Menzerna Finishing Glaze and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. LC-78-14650DA
    Pad Care:
Wash foam pads in a mixture of Cobra Quik Clenz and water. Soak the pads for up to 15 minutes and agitate with a Foam Conditioning Brush if needed. Rinse and lay flat to dry. Lay the pads foam down on a clean surface to allow water to drain away from the hook and loop adhesive. Store pads in their resealable plastic bags.

      Re: Lake Country pads

I have all the pads listed above, except the green one. They are really good. What most professionals and home users love about these pads is that the two foam cutting pads do not induce any significant marring, scouring, or haze, if any.

The yellow pads actually work quite well on new paints as well, not just oxidized and neglected finishes. The yellow cutting pad is actually MUCH gentler than any wool pad on the market, but with excellent cutting power to correct medium defects on today's hard clear coats.

I have used the purple foamed wool pad as well, but only once. I bought it out of curiosity rather than for heavy use. It is very user friendly, but lacks the cutting power compared to the maroon Solo wool pad. The PFW is probably the best wool pad to learn on. It is very forgiving and easy to clean. Some time in the future I may give the PFW a try on the DA.

Well, I don't have any of these pads, namely because I don't have a machine. But I thought it wise to share this chart with MOL'ers because somebody might need it. I'm sure when I get ready to buy a DA this chart will come in handy for me as well.

          Re: Lake Country pads

Yeah, give these a try when you pick up a DA or a rotary.

The Meguiar's Finishing Pads are also good to have.

Just a couple more links to add. One comparing LC and Meg's pads and another on LC pads.

              Re: Lake Country pads

I have also read on MOL that not all Lake Country pads are created equal. I guess each vendor can order them with the features that they want (including different colors - Yellow != Yellow). So AutoGeek LC CCS pads are different than ADS's LC CCS pads. I have read MOL users prefer ADS's CCS pads for their features.

I have only used Meguiar's pads so I cannot comment on the difference, but you can find the information by searching MOL.

                Re: Lake Country pads

Yes that is correct, Lake country make the Meguiars pads but they are a different foam construction, they also make special dry use pads for Glare aka Ultra 2000 manufacturing's system (my personal favourite) and also their own CCS, Eurotech, Kompressor (got all of them)

Most are reticulated open cell foam
