Ultimate Quik Wax on exterior trim? How do you apply it? Got pictures?

I like Gold Class Trim Detailer a lot, as long as it doesn't rain or it tends to run and leave vertical streaks along the body which need wiped with quik detailer.

But in my area no store has carried Ultimate Protectant yet.

I use Ultimate Quik Wax for it's intended use, but it has never occured to me to try it on exterior trim, so I would be curious to see pictures.

UQW was not created with the intent of protecting trim (I don't think) but it just so happens that it will not leave white residue when it dries. I don't think I would do this even though it should not cause any harm. I will stick with Supreme Shine and UP for almost all exterior trim.

mike actually told me to use UQW on my trucks side rear view mirrors because UP is having a hard time sticking to them but he does not recommend using UP on rubber trim(if smooth and UP wont bond to them) around windows because UQW does not keep them moisturized and you dont want them drying out, but black plastic pieces you can use it on.

I think Jim has it covered, he has been doing this for a while.

I have all the Meguiar's vinyl protectant products and will post some photos of them all after application and also the UQW.

I stumbled upon this use for UQW quite by accident. I have been a regular user of Trim Detailer for exterior vinyl and occasionally I'd use #40 or Natural Shine on my vehicles too. When I learned that UQW wouldn't dry white or stain the plastic I was not so careful in it's application. I discovered that the plastic/vinyl that was covered with UQW looked as good and that look lasted much longer than the dedicated products I had been using, especially after several washing and rain.

I don't use it on rubber but it is my go to product for exterior vinyl trim these days. I still use the dedicated products for the interior vinyl and there, #40 is my favorite.

Give UQW a try and see how/if you like it on your exterior vinyl.

I'll try to get some shots of this today.

When you say exterior "vinyl", do you mean plastic?

Happened to see Ultimate Protectant at O'Reilly auto the other day while shopping for something else so I picked up a bottle.

Did the exterior trim and interior dash and door trim with it. As described in previous posts it definitely darkens the gray exterior trim on my truck and creates a very slick finish. sorry i don't have any pics. We'll have to see how long it lasts. I really like that it doesn't leave a greasy or oily finish once it's bonded.

I LOVE this stuff. I used it on my trim over a month ago. Two touchless car washes, 2 soap, and 1 ONR wash later....it is still a nice matte black. Can't beat it for durability.

I noticed that Meguiars seems to wait a year for new products to be released in Canada - example: Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Quik Wax were released in 2009 and in spring of 2010 I saw both products on the shelves at both Walmart and Canadian Tire. Will Ultimate Protectant be coming to Canada in spring 2011 or sooner?
