Seems like that has happened to quite a few people. I actually have not had it happen to me with any Meguiars dressing.

M40 streaks down my back window pretty bad after it rains. It's nothing a quick wipe doesn't fix, though something that doesn't streak is very appealing.

        Re: Ultimate Protectant

Virtually any standard water based dressing will have a tendency to streak in the rain - applying a large amount of water to a water based product has that effect!!

Ultimate Protectant makes use of some very specialized polymer technology, however, so it can withstand rain and even washing far, far better than conventional water based dressings.

Below is a series of images shot by one of our product managers, in fact the guy responsible for overseeing Ultimate Protectant during its development. The shots depict the lower cladding on his Jeep Cherokee, which was looking a bit weathered.

This is immediately following application of Ultimate Protectant. You can see the dramatic difference in appearance from the untreated section on the left to the treated side on the right. What's really cool beyond just the appearance is the fact that Ultimate Protectant dries fully dry to the touch in a matter of minutes.

This next shot is the same area, but 20 days after application.

Finally, we're a bit over 2 months since that single application (72 days to be precise) and the vehicle has been washed. What's really interesting here is that even though the product is beginning to show signs of fading back a bit, the treated side still looks much more uniform in color than does the untreated side.

Can't wait to try this product. My Jeep GC is parked outside and the trim looks faded just like the pics above. ASD is my go-to product right now, so I'll have to do a comparison to see how the 2 hold up over time.

You guys are really going to dig this product then!

True story: a few months ago I pull into the parking lot at work and notice the Nissan Xterra that belongs to one of our guys with the Special Events Group. Something looked noticeably different about it but it took a few seconds for it to click - the plastic bumpers looked like they had been replaced. Last time I had seen them they were so faded they were almost white, but very mottled looking too. So I stop by Joseph's desk (owner of the Xterra) and asked what he did.

"Oh, that's some of the new stuff the guys are working on", he said.

"Huh?????" I responded. "That's something new we're developing???? What's it called? How did you apply it? How long has it been on the truck???"

He's chuckling now; "I don't know for sure, they just asked if they could use my truck for a little test. Cool thing is it's totally dry to the touch".

"Whoa, this I gotta see up close" I said, and headed back out to the parking lot and over to the Xterra. I ran the palm of my hand along a good two foot section of the bumper and looked at it. Dry as a bone. Not a mark on the bumper. Yeah, this was going to be something special.

A couple of months later I'm looking the Xterra over once again and asked Joseph how many times the product had been reapplied. "That's still from the first application a couple of months ago" he says.

And we had to wait until now to tell you guys about this!!!!!! You try keeping a secret like that some time!!

                    Re: Ultimate Protectant

I'm also looking forward on this one, I currently have black magic, and it kind of works "ok", not as great as I expected... and it's consistency of the gel is kind of sticky.
How does the consistency of UP compares to black magic? Is it a thick gel as well? Or more of a liquid smooth kind of product.

                    Thanks!!

When I spoke to you on the phone a few weeks ago you sounded like you were dying to spill the beans but you obviously couldn't and I had to wait until 3am last night! For the record it was well worth it.

Haha I like how Joseph gets stuff tested on his car months before its released and doesn't even know what it is when we're dying to know what is even going to be released, let alone test it!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                            I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
