Pictures from October 17th, 2009 - Saturday Open Class
Re: Pictures from October 17th, 2009 - Saturday Open Class
A big thank you to everyone who took time out of a gorgeous Saturday (sorry East Coast guys!!) to spend time with us today - you were an awesome group!!
And today turned out to be a Corvette invasion!!!
It wasn't all Corvettes....... but there were plenty of swirls to deal with!!
Everybody loaded up on pizza before tackling the swirls in the garage.
Getting ready to clay..... or maybe do a magic trick?
Taping up to delineate between hand work and machine polishing....
Here's a bit of Ultimate Compound going on by hand....
.... and via G110.
Proper use of towel management!
We finish up with a light coat of NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0....
.... and a little goes a long way!
"Hey, I can see myself!!!!"
"So can we!"
But you need bright daylight to see the real change....the left side was done by hand, the right side by G110 (both with Ultimate Compound & NXT Tech Wax 2.0)
We close the day as a few others take their turn at the G110...

Mike,
Great Class with very good information. Your products really did a great job on the test vehicle.
I picked up all my product from the shop in Lake Forest but they did not have the G110 buffer. I guess they are waiting on the updated model due to be released very soon.

Thanks Mike for a great day. Good info, good food and good people.
One additional question. If I am going to use a separate polish and wax following the paint cleaning, would you recommend using the black pad for applying both the polish and wax?

Yes, a W9207 finishing pad would be the correct choice, but you would use separate pads for each step - no mixing products!!

Whether you need to clay or not is going to be determined by your evaluation of the surface. If it feels rough to the touch then claying is suggested. If, on the other hand, it's nice and smooth then you can jump right into the Ultimate Compound or other paint cleaner immediately after washing and drying.
