  • Buckethead: Wet/Dry vac on the cheap.

I was at Home Depot a couple of days ago and noticed a new product.

Home Depot's in-store brand wet/dry vac, the Buckethead. Retails for under $20.

It's designed to fit over Home Depot's "Homer" bucket which sells separately for under $3.

So at $23 + tax (if applicable), this has to be one of the cheapest wet/dry vacs on the market. My local Home Depot had dozens on display. When I returned 2 days later, they were gone! I thought maybe Home Depot pulled them for some reason, but a clerk told me they sold out!

Check your local Home Depot. They're not available online.

I'd be interested to know what the hp rating is.

Unfortunately there isn't much info on the vac at that webpage. Looks cool, though.

I also noticed that as well, and heard it's basically garbage and not suited to stand up to regular use like the normal wet/dry vacs. hopefully, someone can buy one and report on how it holds up over time.

I've heard that they aren't of very good quality, but what can you expect for $25? I bought my Snap-On shop vac for ~$60 at my local Pep Boys and the thing is great. If for an extra $35 you can have a higher quality shop vac why not spring for it?

First I have heard of it. Potentially, it could be a great idea. Wish the site gave out more specifics. Pretty cool.

So are there any attachments at all, or do you buy those separately?

I would probably buy one if I had a really, really nasty job that would be likely to ruin my good shop vacs. Otherwise I don't see the point, really.

Will this be strong enough to blow air out of small crevices, when drying my car?
