They sold them in stores as samples. Heck, some stores still have them! One of the Christmas Gift Boxes, about 2 years ago I believe, had one of those of PlastX in it.

Judging by the wide variety of companies represented in those samples, it's probably a safe bet these have been collected up in various goodie bags handed out at car shows, or picked up at company booths as these shows.

I've never seen these at a car shows or anything, though I would love to. I never knew you guys did this kind of thing, that is so cool!

There is a definite lack of Meguiar's love at a lot of the car shows I go to here in NY, maybe some more of these types of samples might help. We definitely need more of a Meguiar's presence in NY.

          Re: Meguiar's Samples?

The folks running these shows need to contact Meguiar's - that's how our samples show up in goodie bags. Keep in mind these goodie bags get handed out to people who have a car entered in the show, they are rarely just handed out to the general public. At SEMA we give out samples, and sometimes under certain circumstances we'll have samples like this instead of product for sale at a show.

Meguiar's sponsors literally thousands of shows every year in the USA alone. We have our big rigs that go to all the major events - Carlisle (a dozen or so HUGE events there alone), Pebble Beach, Barrett-Jackson, Good Guys events, etc, and we have a group of people who will go to some shows with just a 10x20 EZ Up, some tables, banners and a bunch of product to sell. Most of the time, however, we either contribute complete goodie bags, samples for goodie bags, or we kick in some funding to assist with the event cost. Sometimes it's a combination of these things - there's no real hard & fast rules. At the Rolls Royce Owners Club meeting in Orlando, FL next February we're not only sponsoring the event, we're flying out and putting on a couple of detailing clinics too. That should be a lot of fun!

Unfortunately, I never get to make it to the big shows thus I never get to go to shows that the Meguiar's trailers are. The way things look right now, I will be at Detail-Fest and hopefully I will be able to attend Barrett Jackson. Just being there for the new Meguair's products will be enough.

I will try to talk to the event planners about local car shows getting Meguiar's to sponsor their shows. With all the shows on Long Island and in Brooklyn, at least a few of them will be interested.
