  • Product, Pad & Speed Recommendations for Rotary Buffing

We've updated this chart to reflect some of our newer products, and also to include application of rotary compatible waxes. Keep in mind that it's rare to find someone actually applying a wax via rotary, but it can be done provided you use the right products, pads, speed, etc.

The above reference chart does not mean to imply that you can never stray from these recommendations. Sometimes experimentation yields surprising results, but those results may not be consistent from vehicle to vehicle, paint to paint.

It should further be noted that M86 So1o Cut & Polish Cream is not on this list because it is system unto itself, including the various pads and dedicated backing plate.

Great chart, Mike! Would D151 fit in the same range as M66?

Wouldn't you know it..... .... had a funny feeling something would be forgotten! Hang on a minute or three and we'll get D151 added in, but it's pretty unique and can be used with almost any pad.

Thinking of experimenting with rotary buffer on a wrecked car.

I intend to useMedium Cut Cleaner.

                  My rotary has a minimum of 1500 Rpm's, so from 1500 - 6500.

                  Suggestions please.

                  Thanks

Hi,i have Meguiars Foam cutting pad and Foam Polishing pad, local made backing plate, i am using Diamond Cut 2.0 with foam cutting pad and branded rotary buffer with local brand backing pad, i could not polish properly, while polishing with diamond cut and foam cutting pad, the polisher gets slips..i mean the polishing pad doesnt rotate firmly on the surface...is it because of non-branded backing pad..do i need to use flexible backing pad or rubber pad.. i hope you understood my problem...requesting you to help me in this case..ThanksNilesh
