  • Help with repairing a rock chip

While waxing my car last week I noticed my first ding halfway down the passenger door. The ding is definitely through the clearcoat and it is more of a "scoop" out of the door as opposed to just a scratch. It appears to have gone down below the paint as well because it looks like it is the primer that is showing but not metal, either way it looks to be through the paint as well. Being that I have a Silver car it is not too noticeable but I would still like to take care of it. The car is a 2010 Silver Ice Metallic Camaro SS and I have come across the touch-up paint supplies here, http://www.automotivetouchup.com/tou...t_matched.aspx and was just planning on following their steps for repair, http://www.automotivetouchup.com/touchupdirections.htm

Here is a poor attempt at a picture of the ding using my phone, any tips would be appreciated.

If you are comfortable wet-sanding, etc, you can certainly try it.

Just a matter of how fancy you want to get.

I am assuming the wet sanding would come in after I applied the base color and then the clearcoat on top of that?
