If I would have used a second water magnet like I normally do, I could have got the rest off, but I was not worried about getting it all off as it was to rain the next day and just get dirty again from all the rain and snow melt.

So no, I did not notice that it needed any extra buffing due to the new wax properties of the wash.
Thanks, for the answer. I was just curious before I splurged on this. Appreciate it.

      Looks Great!!
I can't wait to get my hands on the new products!!
      Excellent Write Up!!
Trust me my truck looks about the same as yours. It kills me every time I see it. And when you wash in the winter it never seems to come out as clean as it does in the summer time. But at least it is something.

        Thanks.

Yes winter is always a tough time for getting your vehicle cleaned. This time of year I am usually just happy when it gets above freezing so that I can go to the car wash and pressure wash some of the salt off of my truck. It was such an unusually nice day Saturday though that I could not resist doing a good hand wash on it. And of course I could not wait until spring to try the new Ultimate Wash and Wax.

Great write up, Mister B, thanks for that!

You mentioned how Ultimate Wash & Wax looked different than any other car wash you'd ever seen, that it was milky yellow in appearance. The milky appearance is due to the dispersed wax formulation rather than the more traditional soluble wax formulations on the market. These soluble wax formulas end up with an essentially clear liquid similar to other car washes, including Gold Class, NXT Generation, etc. Meguiar's dispersed wax formulation really sets this product apart.

It should also be noted that, with the amount of salt you had on the truck to begin with, your wax was probably pretty heavily compromised. Since UW&W is not designed to be a substitute for a proper wax job it may not have left quite as slick a finish as it otherwise might.

Here's a couple of tips for maximizing Ultimate Wash & Wax - always use just a steady stream of water from the hose when rinsing, rather than using this method just for your final rinse. The soap will still rinse away very easily but this more gentle rinse approach will allow more of the wax to remain behind. Also, if you can give the product a bit more dwell time on the surface, that will help as well. Obviously you don't want it want to dry on the surface, but if you're working in the shade on a cool surface you might want to wash half the vehicle before rinsing rather than wash/rinse one panel at a time.

            time.
            Thanks!

I agree. My truck did have a lot of salt on it and I won't be basing my entire opinion of the new wash based on this first wash. My main goal for the day was to wash the salt off of the truck, and I could not resist trying out a new product. The new wash accomplished my goal for the day and if it happened to leave the slightest bit of protection behind even better.

Come spring when I can start to regularly wash and maintain my truck again I should get a better idea of the true properties of this new Wash and Wax.

Nice review, I'm eager to get some of this wash, I've been looking but have had no luck. However, I was able to pick up a can of the new GCCP (Gold Class Carnauba Plus) wax and can't wait to try it out.

Got my own bottle today, and since I am overseas I think I might be the first to test this wash&wax over here

But shouldn't you had used a degreaser on your car pre to the washing? Thinking of all the grime and salt...I didn't even know they used salt over there! Here they have like salt fetish or something...

Re: New Ultimate Wash & Wax - First Use

I have been using the New Ultimate Wash and Wax weekly for several month’s now and I really like this new wash and wax. I have been pleasantly surprised.

I waxed my truck once a few month’s ago, and with weekly washings and follow up’s with Last Touch spray detailer, it still looks like I just waxed it. This is my daily driver which is driven over 400 miles a week too. I’m really surprised at how good my truck still beads and the sheeting action I get when rinsing the truck down after a wash with not being waxed for several month’s now.

From the very beginning I was not expecting this wash to be anything spectacular over the gold class wash that I normally use and love, but I wanted to give it a try anyway, being a new product. Being $10 for a small bottle though, I figured I would probably go back to gold class after finishing up my first bottle. However now that winter is over and I can keep up with my truck more regularly now, I think I like the New Ultimate Wash and Wax better than Gold Class and I will definitely be buying more. I really like it.

I like it for maintaining things.

I have read some posts claiming it has poor cleaning ability.

                    Not true IMO.
