Know anything about Rancho Santa Margarita, CA?

So I just found out that my parents put an offer on a house in RSM, CA, and the owners agreed on it. The house was put up for sale yesterday, and we bought it today -- my parents just fell in love with the house.

Anyways, does anyone know anything about RSM or perhaps even live close by? ie. is it a good area, any fun things to do, how close/far from entertaining hot spots, etc.

Also, anyone know the water laws for this district?

You're 15 minutes south of Meguiars Irvine CA headquarters, what else do you need to know?

RSM is a very tony, very upscale neighborhood in one of the most upscale counties in the nation. Very near Coto de Caza, which for years was the gold standard of the Orange County well-to-do. South Orange County has a lot to offer, all depends upon what your interests are. The folks who live in RSM or Coto tend to be equestrian aficinados. You are probably 20 minutes from the beach, 40 minutes from Los Angeles, less than an hour from San Diego.

And you are a stone's throw from the same high school that produced NFL QB's Carson Palmer and Mark Sanchez

The toll road is your friend.
The place is quiet and less congested traffic than central or northern part of OC.

And I was wondering how far I was from the Megs HQ! 15 minutes not bad at all!! Looks like I'll be attending plenty of Thursday night classes! lol

Honestly, I could pick you up on the way to work in the morning as I live just up the road in Trabuco Canyon. Not that I'm offering to take you to work with me every day. We do, however, expect to see you at one of our Saturday Classes and perhaps even become a regular on Thursday Nights.

Oh, you're also only about 15 minutes away from Cars & Coffee every Saturday morning. Just do a search for Cars & Coffee here on MOL and you'll find several threads full of pictures.

Or, on any given Sunday, you could just take a drive up Pacific Coast Highway - it's sort of a rolling car show.

And Mike, thanks for the offer! I'll definitely see you guys at a Saturday class and several Thursday night! Are the Saturday classes always the same? Can I only go once to a Saturday class?

I'm not in RSM yet, but will be in June or July. Just waiting on my brother to graduate high school.

Not to mention that you are about only 30 mins or so from the beach depending on what beach you want to go to.

Yea! Laguna Beach and San Clemente Beach are both 30 min drives! Never been to either so I'll def be checkin out both! Well, never been to California in general.. lol

RSM is right next to where I live in Lake Forest. It is a real nice area.
