  • PlastX, yet again to the rescue!

I'd go into detail, but I'm sure everyone just about gets the process, lol. The application though, was just one good one.

    Before

    During 50/50

    After

Here's the towel after one headlight. You can see all of the oxidation and junk PlastX took off.

Looking back, I wish I had taken before and afters of the wheels and tires too! Let me put it this way, they were so dirty, it is actually what I would describe as literally awkward to see the car now because of how clean and shiny everything is. The tires I don't think have ever been actually cleaned or scrubbed. I sprayed full strength degreaser on them, and the wheels, and brown stuff just started running off of the tire. They are now deep black. The wheels looked like a very, dull gray flat paint. They are now a bright, shiny metallic silver.

Don't you just hate it when you neglect to take those "before" shots and then get a result that blows you away?!

Nice work on the lights, and we're sure the tires and wheels are equally well done!

Those headlights turned out great! Will probably have better night vision too! Nice!
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

I'll have to sneak a picture of the wheels/tires in later. You can still see on the inside of them how dirty they were. I didn't go too crazy on it since it was another "free" detail if you will, and it probably won't be cleaned for another long time. And yes, the lighting did seem to be a bit better last night!

        Thanks though guys!

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger with the cloudy yellowish color on the headlights...my question is I don't have a drill to use with the buffer or power ball, can I use old fashioned elbow grease, and do I need to pre-treat the headlights or can I just start slathering the "Plastx" on the headlights or a microfiber cloth/towel and go that route, any support would be much appreciated. Thank You.

I would recommend that you clay the lights first as you may remove some of the yellow haze before Pastx-ing. The use a terry cloth with it and you should be fine. Good Luck.

I did this by hand. I just started rubbing away with a cotton terry towel!

Roushstage2, did you use a DA or just old-fashion elbow grease?
