    Eemax "marine/rv" Tankless Water Heater - EX2412M and insuarnce?

    We were thinking of putting a thankless propane hot water heater on our boat. I have heard that they are real popular in Europe but that insurance will not cover the boat with one in the US. Does anyone know about insurance issue?

    A quick Google search seems to support your concerns about insurance coverage.
    They seem to be illegal in Canada which would make me wonder if they might also be illegal in the U.S.

    Probably the only way to be sure is to get the information direct from your insurance carrier.

      If it's a propane heater then it has a flame and that's where the problem arises. I have always been told any flame in a boat is forbidden hence electric heaters are OK and propane are not. Same with BBQ grilles. Electric grilles are recommended and propane are not.
