For cleaning a highly neglected vinyl surface you will get best results using a soft bristled brush.

I would go MF or terry for general cleaning.

But for general cleaning, #39 probably isnt the best choice. #39 is more for the real bad stuff, like shown above.

Depending on how aggressive you want to be, a foam pad will be your least aggressive method where as microfiber will be more aggressive. I assume you since you are using 39, you are looking to clean a surface. Microfiber's fiber are super small and great at deep cleaning.

For larger areas I go with the terry cloth towels. In tighter spots, I use a foam applicator.

i am using 39 to clean my trim because i tried using UP and it did not dry on the surface and it rained and it streaked all over my paint and mike mentioned that the surface was either still dirty or had an old product still on it.

After cleaning the trim, it sounds like you need to read this thread Mr. Stoops posted today.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Quick question - why would someone choose M39 over APC/APC+? I have APC, any real reason why I should grab some M39 too?

As far as aggressiveness goes for materials: Terry > Foam > MF

#39 will be stronger, basically a strong, safe dedicated vinyl cleaner.

Unless you are running into real bad dirt on something, probably not a nessecity.

As mentioned, the MF will be mild, but you may find the fibers of the MF will work better on a textured surface, getting into the grooves.
