  • Clean before you sand.

Step 1. Once you have washed your car and set up your stuff I recommend that you clean your car with Swirl Free Polish or Meguiars detail clay before you start the color sanding process. To remove contanimants that will scratch when you sand.

Step 2. Soak your sand paper in a soapy distilled water solution for about 20 mins. (Cut you strips in 1/2 if you have the full sheet kind) Then palce them in the sanding backing pad.

Step 3. Spray the suface with water @ all times when you are sanding so you don't let the surface dry. Go in one direction with the body panel until there is an even haze that feels smooth to the touch. The sanding process may take 3-5 hours to do it right. (Depending on condition and car size) Always start w/ a mild paper and work up so that you dont remove to much clear coat. When you have finished with a mild paper (2000 grade)

Step 4. Then check the surface to make sure you havent missed any ereas. After this step has been finished properly you can stert the buffing step. Will continue tomm. with same title "Clean before you sand"
