I have an aluminum tanker to buff. It has old decal marks in it. Any suggestions for the best way to get rid of them and polish without marking it up would be helpful. Thanks

Have you tried polishing them already at all? If so, what polish and application method?

Is this bare metal aluminum? How big?

It is bare metal alluminum. It is off an oil delivery truck, so it's good size.

Just asking. Would it not be the same as doing a old plane? There are a few threads in here on doing vintage planes. Check them out and they should be able to guide you.

Yes, I was thinking of Joe's plane details as well.

Yeah, those threads, a box of disposable gloves, a buffer, quite a bit of a liquid metal polish or paste if you want to scoop it out and rub it on the pads, some pads and many towels will be your friend.

I can point you to a guy doing aluminum fuel tanks. I will send you a pm.
