  • Information on swirl products

    Hello
I would appreciate if you can tell me what is the difference between:
1- Swirl X and Swirl Remover (M0916) and if M0916 could be applied by hand.

2-Meguiar's Natural shine Protectant and Mirror Glaze Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner (M4016) and if M4016 could be used for tire/interior natuarl (not shiny) look.

3-Mirror Glaze Synthetic spary detailer and ultimate quick wax.

3- Can I use Mirroe Glaze Synthetic spary detailer after Meguiar ultimate quick detailer without washing my car or I need to wash and then use ultimate quick detailer follow up by Mirror Glaze Synthetic spary.

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Information on swirl products

    1) I believe that Swirlx is slightly stronger than M09 and Swirlx is also stronger than M83 (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...siveness+order). M09 could be applied by hand but I would go with Swirlx.

    2) Both leave a great low gloss sheen. Both can be used for interiors, tires, trim, vinyl, etc, and the determining factor is really a preference. I think that M40 has a little more cleaning ability (and an awesome smell IMO ) but they are both really great products.

    3) I have seen this confusion before. M135 leaves behind a polymer coating (utilizing hydrophobic technology) but is not, by any means, a wax. It is still used to clean up light dust but adds a little more sheen than QD. UQW is a wax booster in that you use it after applying a regular coat of either paste or liquid wax. It can be used solely, as the only wax, but will not have the longevity (at least not with me) that a paste or liquid wax has. It is used to prolong the life of the paste or liquid waxes and is a wax, unlike M135, which is a detailer.

    4) There is no need to use M135 after UQD becasue they are essentially the same product, the difference being that one is from the Mirror Glaze line and can be bought in gallons while UQD is from the consumer line and can only be bought by bottle. It is also important to remember that spray detailers should not be used as a susbstitute for a 2 bucket wash on a 'dirty' not 'dusty' vehicle. If there is a 'film' on the car, then you should 2 bucket wash it, not spray detail it. Trust me, I have learned this from experience, and have only finished removing most of the swirls inflicted by my heinous error.

The Natural Shine won be as durable for exterior uses.

Just a quick note to mohebmhanna: we deleted your new thread from this morning since it's asking the exact same questions that you have here. Let's keep all the answers in one place - and the answers you got from coopers23 here are pretty well spot on!

            Re: Information on swirl products

Any water based dressing will give tires a clean, black look without appearing greasy or oily. Natural Shine, M40, HyperDressing diluted 4:1 are all great choices for this application. Keep in mind, however, that since they are all water based they won't last very long if exposed to heavy rain.

You could also try Endurance Tire Gel (not the high gloss version) for longer lasting protection. It will likely be glossier to start, but if you apply it and then come back and wipe the tires down with an old terry cloth towel 10 or 15 minutes later you can knock down some of the gloss.
