  • 2004 Toyota Avensis

Hi all, this is my first time working on a car that wasnt mine (its my Sister in Laws)

Its a 2004 Toyota Avensis in Carlo Blue.

    Process:
Washed with GC then dryed with a Water Magnet
Clayed with Smooth surface clay kit
Swirls tackled with UC and G220 (tried '83 with no luck)
    1 x coat of NXT2
    Megs Tyre shine

    A couple of before shots:

After washing, and claying, it doesnt look too bad does it?

Until you get a bit closer in the sun!!!!!

    Or even closer

The car was like this all over

After a bit of persuasion with UC heres a 50/50 shot

    And another

The sun then decided to go in so no more fun with photos, just on with the hard work. I wasnt able to remove all of the swirls but given how many there were to begin with its still a major improvement!!

Here are the finished shots and some ever popular reflections

    Many thanks for looking

Hi, thanks for your kind words. She was well happy with the results but she usually takes the back roads to work so i could get dirty pretty quickly again, but at least when the sun shines its reflections are clear.

Both my Brother in law and Niece now want their cars doing!! This wont be too bad though as they're a bit smaller (Miata and MR2)

        Thanks again

Wow, that car was FULL of swirls. Great job on that one! I really like those dark blue colors.

What pad did you use with the UC? I have the same colour 2003 avensis to tackle in 2 weeks from today.

Hi Perkoz, I used a polishing pad (the older megs type) and it worked well.

Ryan, the case was supplied through my work to hold a printer/laptop and paperwork. It is hard sided with a drop down 1/2 panel on the front (which used to have the printer attached to it).

We had new soft storage bag supplied, they didnt ask for the old one back and I didnt remind them cos I had an idea what I could use it for!!

                    Thanks
