    Pictures!!!

Another great class, with several of Meguiar's International folks from all over the world visiting this time around.

As per usual, we chose a black car with plenty of issues in the paint; swirls, scratches, water spots, etc. There were a lot of pits in the paint as well; these come from fine debris impact while driving and short of wet sanding and rotary buffing, they aren't coming out. And even that process isn't really recommended for factory paint anyway.

But the other issues..... a little Ultimate Compound on a G110v2 and they're gone!

This is what we discovered upon visual evaluation - swirls, straight scratches, water spots:

A physical evaluation also told us that the paint was loaded with bonded contaminants since it felt rough to the touch. So we started claying to remove these before going after the below surface issues.

We then sectioned off the hood so we could demonstrate hand application and machine application side by side. Here, Ultimate Compound is being used to attack those below surface defects. First we spread some product over our work area....

....then we work it against the paint in overlapping strokes. Notice the pattern here - we don't just wipe in some random motions but rather in very deliberate, overlapping strokes and paths. This way we work the product evenly and thoroughly against every square inch of paint in order to achieve as uniform a result as possible.

After thoroughly working UC against the paint and wiping it off, we applied some Deep Crystal Polish and then finished with NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0. We then covered that area with a towel while we demonstrated the G110v2. Again, we started with Ultimate Compound.

Even on the G110v2 side we followed with DC Polish and NXT Tech Wax 2.0. And the final result? The pits we mentioned previously were still there, as we expected them to be, but the rest of the below surface defects were taken care of beautifully!

Look how much darker and richer the paint looks in our two test spots (hand on the left, machine on the right).

With test spots done it was back into the garage so we could put the G110v2 into your hands!

Once again, a big thank you to everyone who chose to spend a Saturday with us, and to our own Ash Erickson for handling camera duties during the demos!

Thanks for the great class Mike. I learned lots of stuff plus the barbecue pizza was awesome I just applied some of that knowledge by just finishing "quik detailing" my car.
