  • Ultimate Quick Wax

I finally got my hands on this stuff.

I have used their ultimate quick detailer for a few years now and never had issues. I was looking for a good booster wax. My father-in-law actually had a bottle in his detail cabinet and figured it be a good time to hit all the cars.

Having just done some "Up-keep" which is a wash and dry, that car came out near perfect looking again. The other two vehicles had fresh coats of NXT and Hi-tech yellow #26 applied and both had at least 4 hr cure time (1- got a 12 hour, the other a 4 hr).

It went on easy and came off even easier with a MF towel.

It is supposed to rain tommorrow, I cannot wait to see the water blasting off my car with this stuff.

I totally recommend this between waxes and washes. Also do not forget that Meg's Ult. Quick Detailer works like a charm too!

    This stuff is spooky cool

I waxed my car about 4 weeks ago with NXT 2.0 and this weekend decided to try UQW after washing the car (of course). This wipes on and off as easy as a quick detailer and not having to worry about it getting on black plastic or rubber is a huge plus for me with my car. So I'm thinking this stuff is too easy. No way it can be doing anything. Well I was surprised at how much shine it added and how slick the surface was ... spooky cool indeed

      Nice review, thanks!

It is surprising just how tenacious UQW is - pretty incredible for a spray wax. And the defect hiding ability? Yeah, "spooky cool" sums it up pretty well!

These images were from a TNOG last summer - the Ford logo is all that was treated with UQW, the rest of the hood had been stripped bare. Notice all the holograms and other defects, except in the treated areas. Nothing buy a couple coats of UQW on here.

There's also a really cool video that Mark Kleis put together that same night showing UQW repelling water - the magic of hydrophobic polymer technology!

          Re: Ultimate Quick Wax

Well, while we're on the subject, I have a story about how awesome this stuff is.....

I bought my current truck ('06 Tahoe) off my Mom back in February. Now, Mom is retired, her trucks have always been stored in their pole barn over winter. For the most part, her truck stays in the pole barn during the other months too, unless she takes it out on a nice sunny day shopping, or on her yearly trip to Florida (otherwise she takes Dads, which sits out year around..I know..must be nice!!) So, basically, she sees no priority in keeping her truck waxed as they do not sit out in the elements or the sun. She always keeps her truck washed, just no wax. (The paint still beaded after 4 years with no wax, and she believed there was still some kind of protection on it since it still beaded - but we all know better )

So now I buy it, and it's still winter, so I'm freakin' about getting wax on this truck!! For those of you not from NY, in February it's a balmy 20 below zero, give or take 10 degrees . Once March/April got here and it was a bit warmer, I picked up some UQW and on the warmer days above freezing, I took my truck to the local laser wash (my only alternative in winter) then give it a spray down with UQW when I get home. After the first application I was amazed at the depth and shine it gave the truck. After the first rain, I was TOTALLY amazed at how much better the rain water beaded and how the rain water just flew off the truck when I took off down the road!!

UQW definitely helped me with my no-wax anxiety!! I was quite skeptical about how well some spray wax would do, but I was pleasantly suprised!

Now I alternate using UQD and UQW between coats of NXT 2.0!!!

Oh yeah, and my Mom bought herself a bottle of UQD and UQW for her new truck and wants a coat of NXT 2.0 on it!

UQW is definitely a great product--perhaps the best OTC spray wax available. It's so darn easy to use, with great results every time.

Never leave UQW between washes. Always use it every wash or at least every 2 times of wash.

A great product for maintaining the paint... Love it.

It rained today and I got to look at all the vehicles I did. It looked dead sexy as the water was just rolling off the paint and looking like as it did as I did a fresh detail.

My question about this is..You can use it on hot surfaces and in direct sunlight..But you shouldn't wash a car in direct sunlight..And you have to wash before UQW..So the surface is clean..So how can you enjoy using it in direct sunlight..

Well, if you washed in the morning, it could be sunny by the end.

If your car is relatively clean, is kept inside of a garage and the surface is already smooth, you could simply dust down the car with an MF. Depending on how hot it is, you could use instant detailer on very small sections, depending also, on the type of instant detailer you are using. I have never used Megs Ultimate Detailer, so I can't comment on that.

I have washed vehicles in direct sunlight with no ill effects. If it's 98 degrees outside, then I would refrain from washing until the temperature cools, or you have distilled water to rinse. You can also use the two bucket method, (my version) where you have one bucket filled with soapy water and a wash mitt, and another filled with distilled water, or just regular water if you don't have distilled. Take the wash mitt from the soapy water bucket, and wash a small area. (I rinse any foreign debris on the wash mitt with the hose, since I'm using the other bucket for rinsing.) I use a clean sponge in the rinse bucket, and use it to rinse the small section I have just washed. I then quickly dry the small area, and move on to another section.

When it comes to washing in the Sun, I DO try to avoid it if possible. My driveway has until about 12 pm before the sun comes fully over the home. Then 1pm'ish and onwards I have a tree beside the driveway that will provide more then adequate coverage.

The nice part is that in reality. Washing quickly helps. Hosing down the car for a few mins with cold water helps bring the paint temp down. Then you can rinse as you go, panel to panel.

Just keep rinsing. Once done then hit it with the water blade and then follow up with 2 large MF towels and to be honest, you should get everything and no waterspots.

Also if the car has a good layer of protectant/wax, then it comes off even easier.

When using Ult Quick Wax, half the time the water is shedding off the paint already.

I washed my Buick this weekend and we have had heavy pollen and the car was in desperate need. As I was washing and rinsing the water was blasting off, in general since I have a steep drive way, it made it easier to get water off the car.

As for Applying Quick Wax. On a Black Car for example, get her in the Shade, my light pewter met buick even had an issue as I tried to hit the whole hood and then quickly follow up with the MF and I could already tell had this been black, I was going to have an issue to trying to get the stuff off the hood.

                            Re: Ultimate Quick Wax

I've had a spray bottle of UQW for months now, and I'm trying it for the first time tonight, as I just don't have time to do another coat of NXT.20 / #26. We have a club show on Sunday and the spare time is just not there.

I just finished the hood and deck lid. At first I was wiping it on with a microfiber applicator, then coming back with mf cloths. I think I was working too slow, as it almost seemed like if I left it too long, it almost had a water spotting effect. Took a little more buffing to get rid of that. I worked a little quicker on the hood and the results seemed better. More like a QD than a liquid wax.

I'm holding off on doing the rest of the car until I can get it out of the garage into the daylight. White is a little deceptive under garage lighting at night.

I've got high hopes, since I've always had good luck with Meguiar's.

At car shows I will sometimes first hit the car with a quik detailer, either UQD or Last Touch, and then follow with UQW.
