  • Gallon Bottle Spout

    Hi:

Pouring a product from the 1 gallon bottle without spilling some is tricky. Perhaps this would help.

The Meguiar's web site does not have a picture of this item.

Is there a picture of this item anywhere?

Does it actually have an on/off valve or is it more like a funnel?

    Regards,

    KTruck

    Hi KTruck,

I don't know if there is a picture on the Meguiars.com website, I can take a picture of one today and post it here today. The way it works is you twist the spout end and this opens the valve and allows product to pour through. Then twist it again to seal it shut.

      Hi Mike:

If you have time that would be great.

For some reason there has never been a picture on meguiars.com.

I will hold off placing an order until tomorrow.

I spilled way too much product the last time I filled a spray bottle.

      Regards,

        Here's a picture...

Here's how it works: Place the spout into the bottle you are filling and turn the spout to open and when you finished, simply close it. You can hold your gallon completely up-side-down for easy balancing.

I keep them on all of my gallons and don't even use the orig. caps, I just close the spout when storing.

Just curious, what item is it? Does it also work for thicker products like 66?

          Thanks,
          Tom

            Hi Tom,

It is called the On/Off Spout Model # MDSPOUT

I use them, when I can get them, for most of my gallons. It works VERY well for thicker products. I particularily like using one on my Meg's #83 DACP Gallon.

                  Hi:

                  Thanks Mike and Lynn.

The picture was a big help.

Just placed an order. I am sure it will make pouring a product from the gallon bottle a lot easier. Like the idea that you can just leave it on the bottle.

                  Regards,

I've got a few of these spouts myself. If your having difficulty finding them you might just go to your local auto parts store and find a radiator fluid pour spout. It probably won't have the small end like the Meguiar's ones, but the wider end will still fit in the secondary bottles. I have one I paid 50 cants for (wish I had bought them all at that price) and it works just the same.
