    Did someone say "more pictures"?

Hey, you don't see too many of these rolling the streets of your neighborhood anymore!

Unfortunately, the Monte SS was full of these:

Mike Pennington concentrates on some water spot etching.

And then Mike (yes, another Mike ), the car owner, tackles the rest of the hood.

Back to the Monte SS and some claying was in order. It wasn't horrible, but we did pull a decent amount of contaminants off the surface. Unfortunately the rest of the paint job was in dire need of wet sanding and buffing as the body shop appears to have taken a lot of shortcuts with it.

Louie, the owner of the Monte, was able to remove the swirls from the paint, but other issues will need more specialized treatment to gain any further improvement.

Sadly, the more we looked the more we uncovered. Still, from 10 feet away it's quite presentable and Louie isn't looking for this car to be a show queen, just a nice, fun driver on the weekend.

OK, now what the heck is this?

Oh, it's a NISMO exhaust, loaded with heavy water spotting.

After seeing what M93 Metal Polish from our Marine/RV line did to the exhaust on our recent boat detail, it was decided to give it a try here as well.

Andy first demonstrates technique for the owner.....

.... and then a 4" W8204 Soft Buff pad is dipped into the jar of M93 and work began in earnest.

The water spots were under the masking tape and so unaffected by the polish. The rest of the surface is restored to its proper brushed finish.

The exhaust tips needed some love too.

Nice and shiny, and ready for install on the owner's 350Z.

This Echo was a bit of a mess, but Andy (not the Andy from the NISMO exhaust...... gee, you'd think we'd more than just Mikes and Andys here, huh?) helped show his friend how to use a G110v2 and clean it up. Correction was very straightforward on this car and it responded beautifully to Ultimate Compound.

Paul gave his truck a quick once over with D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream.

A little compressed air comes in handy to blow dust out of the roof rails, or bounce your antenna ball around, or just mess with the photographer.

It's always sunny in SoCal, even at night!

Thanks for the open garage, I learned a lot more about technique and the amount of pressure needed to buff out some deep scratches on my CTS.
