Re: Whats your best (client) pick up line??

I once evaluated a car at a facility when the owner was NOT present. The car was in dire need of detailing. I was introduced to the owner the next day and when he met me he said "oh, you're the guy who said my paint looks like _____" (with _____ being what you pick up when walking the dog so that you don't get fined)

I got the job, so I guess it worked.

Truth be told, what I actually said was more along the line of "the paint on this car is seriously messed up, pretty horrible actually". Something changed in translation when this was passed along to the owner.

          Honest.

          I swear.

When's the last time you waxed her?

No I'm talking about your car, not your wife!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

            I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
            Remove swirls my friends.

I usually do not have to say anything since they have heard great things from my other clients.

Although at times I have pointed out how dirty their tires, wells, and engine were.

WOW! Is that the new halogram paint?

I'm not a pro and have not desire to be one, I like doing my own cars and that's about it. But you know, once you know something, you can't 'un-know' it. So I've been caught a few times while looking at paint, shaking my head and making pained sounds. They always want to know why I'm shaking my head and groaning. So I show them. This has lead me to doing the cars of almost everyone I know and I'm sure, making some detailer in town very happy.
