  • 2007 Toyota Yaris

Customer wanted a general wash/wax and interior cleanup. Car had light swirling and once I pointed them out, we agreed that a M205 polish followed by wax treatment would do the trick for at least a 90% correction. Temperature yesterday was forecasted at 110 and it ended the day at 113. I was eager to get an early start.

I just bought a new Canon T2i camera and I am still learning all the settings.

    Process:
    GET STARTED EARLY!

    Engine:
APC and various brushes and mitt
Rinse with hose nozzle on flat spray
    Compressed air at 70# pressure
    Dressed painted area's with UQW
No other dressing was applied at customer request.

    Interior:
Vacuum/dry brush/Vacuum (dry brush technique compliments of Nick/Tuck91)
    APC as needed
    Natural Shine
    M40 on rubber seals
    LGM for seats only.
Various terry clothes and MF towels

    Exterior:
Wheels/Tires/Wheel Wells washed with APC, Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner and various brushes
Tires and wheel wells dressed with HD 4:1 Wheels sealed with M21
    Body Solvent as needed
Door Jams cleaned with APC, brushes and MF towels
Clay with Meg Mild Clay and Last Touch 1:1
    Polish with M205 (one pass)
Wax with NXT Tech Wax 2.0 (x2)
    Final Wipe Down with LT

That engine looks good. Wow temperatures over 110! That is wild. You stated that you used Meg's Mild clay, but in the picture it looks like the red (Aggressive) clay.

It has to be the camera settings. I hadn''t notice but you are correct, it does look like the aggresive clay, but it is the mild (white/grey color).

Yepper...110 plus out. Suppose to be that again today. Typical though for this time of year in Arizona. It just makes it hard to want to do anything in those temperatures. I do have a full size roll around cooler that really helps...until humidty goes up in late June through August (monsoon season)
      Thanks for the post.

great job Don! I'm in Glendale, AZ too! I hate temperatures above 110... It just ruins our polishes/waxes. Plus, it's like 90 when you get out at 6AM... ugh...

Hey Marc...where 'bout in Glendale? Yes, and what's more frustrating is it being 105+ at 10pm. Just never any real relief during these months. I just grab a bar of soap and head for the pool to kill 2 birds with one stone!
