Wow, what a crazy night! With 46 people signed up we had a head count of 44 - that makes for an incredibly busy night and when that happens, unfortunately, the camera doesn't see as much work - we're too busy making sure everyone is getting their questions answered and their cars worked on!

What we have here is just a brief view of the projects worked on last night:

This Toyota Celica is fresh from the body shop. And they didn't bother buffing out all the sanding marks on the rear hatch.

          Dave clayed his Viper...

...while Andy did some cleaning under the hood on his E30 M3.

A little demonstration on removing swirls from a black 1 Series BMW.

Andy was back in the garage helping out with evaluating and correcting swirls on this Honda.

A little clean up on the trim of this beautiful STI before we attacked the water spots on the side.

First a quick demo on proper use of the D/A buffer....

... and then the car owner has at it.

A critical group inspection tells us that the water spots were fully removed with a little Ultimate Compound.

As I was leaving around 10:30 last night I bumped into Barry Meguiar in the back stairwell and his jaw just dropped when I told him how many people we had in the garage. I must say that I wasn't expecting to see him (or anyone else for that matter) at that time and in that spot so he scared the beejeepers out of me!!!

All in all a great night, and a big Thank You to every one who came out and to those who helped out!!

glad i could make it out last night. I got a chance to talk to John and he helped me out with my incredibly water spotted black subaru. I wasnt able to stay all night, but i will definitely be back.

            Thanks again Meguiars!

Great session, Michael. It was my first time attending this event and you helped me with my black 135i convertible that had the swirl marks, holograms and a scratch.

                I wish I was there.

Michael, can you explain what were you doing in the very first photo with such a small pad (3 inch or ..???).

That area of the car had been repainted and the body shop did a terrible job of buffing it out. The smaller pad just made it easier to tackle this small area and concentrate on the sanding marks and other defects left behind. We started with a full size pad but in this confined space the smaller pad just made the job easier. We did, later on, open the hatch to more easily access the edges that were otherwise recessed next to the tail lights, but even then the smaller pad made things easier in such a small space.

Nice turn out and it looks like you all had a great time! I was your drive by in the silver Buick SUV rental last night and was going to stop in but didn't see any familiar faces. I will blame Newport Viper for leaving early!
