Has the car been maintained by someone else in the past? A detail facility at a car wash perhaps?
The car never seen a detail facility and has never had any type of wax treatment. I almost forgot after I waxed the car with the NXT Tech WaX I used the quick detail spray after and wiped it on the car not sure if that makes a difference

Little blurry, but it is showing the circular motions.

As Mike said, only going to get that from a rotary. Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong.

        How old is the car?

OK, picture posts approved through moderation and the two threads have been merged into one.

So, since the car has never seen a detail shop of any kind or even been waxed, then one of two things is happening here:

          1. the dealer did some lousy prep work and covered it up (although it seems enough time has probably passed that any concealing product would have been long already)

          2. the NXT Tech Wax 2.0 was applied too heavy and not allowed to dry fully before wipe off. This can, in certain conditions, yield a streaking phenomenon that can look like holograms. You can easily test for this though - if you wipe a towel over the area from side to side and then up and down, does the direction of the hologram appear to change? If not then you've got a true hologram (scratch pattern in the paint), but if so then the wax is smearing. You have since discovered that you most likely did not let the NXT cure properly and this could well be the issue here.

On the other hand, you said you have since gone over a small area with SwirlX and yet the situation did not change. SwirlX should have pretty quickly removed the NXT, unless you just sort of wiped it on and wiped it off rather than working it against the paint.

So let's give this a shot: Using the foam pad that came with the NXT (make sure it's clean) apply some ColorX to an area with visible holograms/smearing roughly 2' x 2' in size. Work the product against the paint with moderate pressure in overlapping circular motions, making sure to cover every square inch several times in the process. Let the wax dry fully - give it at least 15 minutes or so before attempting to wipe off. Now evaluate in direct sunlight and see if this has cured the problem and report back.

Car is only 4 years old. The car has never seen a wax only when I did it by hand for the first time. What is the best way for me to remove this? By hand.

Thank you very much for combining the threads. I will try this meathod and get back to you today, and with better pictures

                  Re: Swirls Question

Did you left the wax to dry too much? because if you leave it to dry for a long time, it'll become difficult to buff off leaving some sort of difficult to remove haze/swirl like residues which r very difficult to spot unless under artificial light. if that's what you are talking about, those haze/swirls will disappear after 2 or 3 car washes, otherwise, try some wax remover.

                    Re: Swirls Question

Since this car is a daily driver it is important to remember that the car will acquire swirls as it is driven all the time.
So I gather from the above that swirls must be invisible objects that just hang around American freeways and then just attach themselves to your unsuspecting daily drives.

Mighty glad we don't have them here where I live. Is your government taking any action to rid the American freeways of these objects?

Obama has made the eradication of the swirl pestilence one of his adminstration's highest priorities. I am not hopeful, however. Swirls are nasty buggers and hard to catch.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

                        Re: Swirls Question

The car is 4 years old and it has been washed during that time. Or at least we hope it has been. But even hand washing, if done less than perfectly (is that every truly possible???), is going to inflict a mark here or there. Over 4 years those build up and accumulate and the paint looks far from beautiful.

Now, it could be that the paint on this car is fairly soft or delicate and easily marred when working by hand. Use of a terry applicator only compounds the problem (swirls are not roaming freely on American highways, they live in towels, brushes and other instruments of paint torture and are then transferred to the paint upon contact - or, well, something like that ).

Aggressive application of almost any product can cause hazing in delicate paint. Have a look at The Challenge of Delicate Paint for some info on dealing with soft paint.
