touch up paint, looks like it was done with nail polish

    thin/non existant single stage paint

    another thin paint shot

    faded interior plastic panels

Here are the BEFORE photos of my 1980 Camaro. It has original paint. I'm the second owner of this car. Overall it's in good shape, considering it's age. As you can see there is definitely room for improvement. I think the car sat for some time and the sun got to it. I'm definitely going to have to be careful with the thin black paint.

Any suggestions on how to bring the red plastic interior pieces back to life?

Looks like a fun job, thats for sure. As for interior Tuck seems to have that down with APC or APC+, daluted to his needs, various brushes and what not and get a lot out of a car. I see some of the panels have some serious fade. Might need the Krylon Touch so to speak.

Sure thing, just don't expect me to be done in two days
I'm very slow, when it comes to doing my own work.

Hit the T-top rubber with some M40 or UP, you'll be kicking yourself in the rear-end if you don't when it starts leaking on your head.

For sure I'm using M40 on the rubber. I'm really looking forward to treating it. To be honest, this car hasn't seen water in 3 years. I don't even wash it. All it ever sees is Quik Detailer or a California Duster. The T-tops are rarely installed. I usually don't even take them with me in the trunk, because it's only driven on nice days. This is my Sunday driver.

I'm interested in seeing how she'll turn out, I'm sure it will be nothing less then amazing even if the paint work is less then perfect!
My partners wife has a red '66 Mustang that I've been dying to rub out, minus some imperfections in the paint and no type of corrections done it looks very nice.....just need to detail it and make it all the much more better!

What will you be using for your polish?

                  Good luck

Here is what I plan to do.

M07 (pure polish) because I don't have any paint to spare.
If that doesn't give me the results I want, I'll use some ColorX or M205 (sparingly)
Really I just want to see the red come back to life.

I'll have to use sandpaper on the areas that were "touched up".

I want to restore the front signal lenses (likely sand paper, M105, M205)

Headlight bezels (All Metal Polysh) or I'll just leave them alone. Have to do test spot.

                        Wax body with with M26
                        Wax Wheels with NXT 2.0
                        Louvers (NXT 2.0)

                        M40 on the rubber seals

                        All Purpose Cleaner (interior)

I haven't decided on an interior dressing (perhaps Hyper Dressing)

                        All Season Dressing on Tires

Super Degreaser on engine components followed by Hyper Dressing

Great car Bill! Looks like an enjoyable long term project....I'm assuming this is a single stage paint? If so, would probably respond well to something like M80....force some polishing oils back into the finish. Looking forward to seeing the progress!
