Pictures from Thursday Night Open Garage - July 22nd, 2010
Wow, we had a busy night last night - lots of new faces and plenty of projects to keep us busy all night.
The early arrivals wasted no time getting started!
That's a pretty diverse mix of cars!
John brought his 2009 Corvette in and wanted to learn how to properly use the G110v2 to remove fine scratches and water spots.
After trying some Ultimate Compound and moving on to M105, John refined the finish using M205. He now has the confidence to use this tool at home and get the most out of the finish on this beautiful black Vette.
Taping off around the headlight before buffing it out.
He'll be able to see in the dark on the way home tonight!
Nothing like hanging out with a good friend and cleaning up the track day car!
Fun stuff!
Ultimate Compound, M07 and NXT Tech Wax 2.0....... on a track day car???? That should knock a couple tenths off his lap times!
When you buy a 10 year old car, especially a black one, it's bound to have some paint issues, right? But what's the best way to handle this?
Well, apparently you drive down to Orange County from San Francisco and learn how to use a G110v2 and Ultimate Compound!
First, a little claying was called for.
Not too shabby for a novice's first attempt at paint correction, huh?
This was a night for black cars with paint issues. Here a fresh coat of wax is drying on a new Nissan Altima (or an old Audi S4 ).
We really packed 'em in last night - thanks for a great evening everyone!
