  • Mixing Ratios : Filling Detailer Line Bottles

For those of you who are a little bit confused when filling Detailer Line Bottles, here is a little bit of help.

First fill the bottle up with water to your desired ratio.

    example:

If you want a 4:1 ratio, fill the bottle with water to the 4:1 mark.
After the water is at the 4:1 mark, then add product (in this case All Purpose Cleaner) to the red line.

Do not fill the bottle to the top or else the ratio will not work.

There is no writing, or red line on the back of the bottle. Simply fill it to the single ridge.

I hope this helps a few people out. I know I was uncertain. I did some testing today to make sure this is accurate.

    Thanks Bill !

    A bit of history...

These bottles are actually backwards from most dilution bottles...

We add the water 1st !!!

If you add the concentrate 1st, followed by water, you tend to get lots of foam and it is difficult to get the right dilution...

We decided to reverse it by having you add the water 1st, then the concentrate.

This way there is no foam and your dilutions are accurate.

Bill - I think you should post this in the new (this week) thread that lists all of Detailer Line dilution ratios. Would be good to have all the info in one place.

Does the Detailer Glass Cleaner Concentrate bottle have the mix ratio lines as well?

Yes, both the 32 ounce (D20120) & the 16 ounce (D21120) size do

Where might someone find that? I can only find the 32 ounce bottle? It'd be nice to have a smaller bottle to keep in the car.

This thread should be a stickey (or Meguiar's should make the 'full' line obvious)

For a while, I was a bit lost with dilution situation. I thought it was to the bottom of the ribbed-neck.

Re: Mixing Ratios : Filling Detailer Line Bottles

What great timing! I recently bought the 32 oz. window cleaner and a spray bottly. I was going to call Cust. Care today and ask the best way to measure the dillution. I learn everything the hard way. Always wondered how much product I was losing when it foamed out the top while filling with water after putting in the product...duh
