Thanks for posting up those images, Mike - good stuff!

Here are a few more shots from last night's fun:

We started off with some crusty looking headlights.

John did a little taping off in preparation of some wet sanding.

So we sanded and then buffed, and then Mike Palero got in on the fun.

The lenses cleaned up very nicely.

The inside of this car was a bit untidy as well, but a little QID did the trick.

It looked like Celica Night at Meguiar's Garage!

But there were other cars out.

JT left his Celica at home and brought a friend's 1993 MR2 that was in need of some TLC.

We got to work testing a couple of products and processes and settled on Ultimate Compound over M80 Speed Glaze. Why try M80? This is original 17 year old single stage paint!

The pitting isn't going anywhere but the haze, swirls and water spots are gone!

The rear spoiler was, well, spoiled!

But a little UC on a W8207 pad brought it back nicely.

The tight areas around the engine covered required use of a small pad to reach fully. Here we use a rotary to tackle these areas.

Dale brought in his work truck that had been covered in some of the nastiest water spotting we've ever seen. The paint felt rough and the spots were a horrible brown color against the white paint. Claying did virtually nothing (including the red aggressive pro clay!) but some M105 on a D/A cleaned it up pretty well.

This beautiful Infiniti G37S Coupe only has about 300 miles on it but the dealer did a less than stellar job prepping it for delivery. The swirls were light but the paint just looked hazy and lifeless. It was hard to grab images showing this lack of clarity but a quick pass with M205 did wonders for the appearance. This looks to be a case where an overly aggressive product was used and the paint hazed because of it. M205 on a finishing pad via D/A made the paint look clear and crisp with great reflections and a deep, rich look overall.

If you look at the reflection of the garage door opener you can see the left side looks brighter and clearer than the right side. The right side is how the whole car looked when the owner took delivery - the left side is how the whole car is going to look once the owner finishes it off this weekend.

Our last serious project for the evening involved a '97 Land Cruiser with single stage white paint that was dull, lifeless and streaked with years of neglect. Reflections were dull and flat.

Again, all it took was a little Ultimate Compound on a W8207 pad via G110v2 D/A buffer and the paint was clear and glossy with nice reflections.

This is no Photoshop, this is Andy so amazed that he can hardly wrap his head around it. Twice!

It wasn't just the white paint that was dull and lifeless; the black trim needed some serious help too. Ultimate Protectant was just the ticket.

Sean made the trip all the way from South Africa to attend last weekend's Saturday Class as well as last night's TNOG. Since this is the longest distance anyone has ever traveled to attend our classes we thought we'd give him a special prize. But, since our Tahoe won't actually fit in his carry on, we'll make sure to keep it safe for him in the garage.

And as the full moon rose over Irvine, CA it was time to close down for the night.

I love this shot. Great before/after. The paint is actually quite beautiful upon removing the waterspots. They were nasty looking.

I always feel like I missed the party, when I see these Thursday Night Open Garage photos. They look like so much fun.

And the photos don't do justice to the actual results. Although the paint still felt rough after Mike had polished it with a rotary, wool polishing pad, and M105, the contrast in color between the cleaned panel and the rest of the tailgate was more dramatic than what the photo shows.

Really great session last night - lots of opportunity to tackle different types of correction work.

The staining on the F250 was incredible - I don't recall ever seeing "water" stains so deeply etched into the paint (even after Rotary polishing with a wool pad & 105). I doubt the original owner (not Dale) regularly washed & waxed the truck.

The Infiniti G37 was also interesting - simply amazed how a dealer can "prep" (haze?) a brand new car so badly.

Looks like great fun was had by all. Really chuffed to see local boy Woodie (aka Sean) making it across to ocean for the class. Cant wait for him to get back and give us first hand feedback on the class.

It was great meeting Sean during the session. Sean was very helpful throughout the evening - he stepped up to help with cleaning up the Mercedes and provided some good insight on a couple of the other "jobs".

Hey this is good to know - I'll make a note of it so that I don't rent a car for my next visit to the Socal area

It was great to be able to make the trip and to meet a number of the Meguiars regulars. Thanks for the great experience and hospitality.

TNOG presents an awesome opportunity to try out the great line of Meguiar's products and also a great opportunity to meet the community.

Wow I missed the one with the white work truck. That was a dramatic difference. Even though I left early I stil had a blast. Thanks to Mike & Meguiars once again.
