Thanks for the response. One last question, when you say Meguiar's rubbing compound, which product is that?

See why Meguiar’s has been a trusted car care company for more than 120 years by shopping an authorized selection of products to treat any motorized vehicle.

I find this works better on window water spots as it has bigger abrasives than anything with SMAT, but you can't work it forever as it has diminishing abrasives.

Simon, we've been remiss for not chiming in on this sooner, and we apologize for that.

You've done a truly outstanding thing here, and it appears you've got tremendous latent talent. If this was your first attempt at this sort of thing, you did an incredible job!!!! If you'd been doing this for a few years we'd still say the same thing.

It is amazing how little orange peel there is in this paint, and for the body shops to have done what appears to be really nice matching jobs on the front and rear bumpers. Looks like the run in with the tree gnawing rodent was a blessing in disguise, too, as the front end of any car with 100,000+ miles always shows some little rock chips, etc that you just can't buff out (and touching up is a royal pain!).

All in all, just a beautiful result after all those hours of hard work. It's great to see someone your age taking this level of pride in his car. We'd love to spread your passion throughout your generation - the next generation of car guys!

Re: 1994 Dodge Stealth Restoration (HD Jet Black Reflection Shots Inside)

Thank you all for the nice comments, but I have some unfortunate news. My car has been hit once again in a parking lot and once again one of the fine citizens of Sumter has failed to leave behind a note.

I think I might've just snapped at this point because I can't stop laughing over this, it's just so surreal that this has happened again so soon. I understand that it's easier to just drive away and get away with it if no one is around, but that's really inconsiderate of the other person. I've poured so much time into making this car as perfect as it can be because it's my hobby and to have someone just destroy it and not take responsibility is very cowardly.

On the plus side, looks like I get to spend some more time with the Stealth after months of having to do nothing with it, well aside from waxing and washing that is. By the way, Meguiar's ultimate wax is HORRIBLE at protecting you from other cars.

So, anyone have any idea where I can get a 1994 Dodge Stealth front bumper, preferably new? My current one is warping (its polyurethane) so I figure this is a good excuse to get a new one.

I feel bad for you Simmon. Although I cant really relate to a big scuff, I had an alignment done on my car and after they were finished they ran it through the automatic car wash and took away my spotless finish. (Dealership)

See if you can repair it to the best of your ability before jumping in to a new bumper. A new bumper and paint is more than the materials needed to fix it.

Really old post but had to reply!! Another 3/s! Yea get on 3si and 3sgto If you aren't already. Great job on the stealth! Keep the glass headlights too they're worth crazy money if you haven't found out. I see you knew to bake them to lift the glass. My first car I still have is my 3000 an I've loved it!
