Re: Pictures from Thursday Night Open Garage - September 30th, 2010

Sure, I get it on not trying to set a record. I am just mainly trying to cut down my drying time and removal time/effort as well as generally trying to do it right. I have certainly seen my efficiency increase over the last year and want to keep getting better. The time I can save on routine steps provides me with more time to pay attention to details like trim, wheels, and headlights - which I have found make a dramatic difference in the overall result.

Look at Mike in the back ground going up to Paul like it were the first time they ever met. And Paul thinking, "Dude we're buds already!"

Which explains why he is reintroducing himself. Men in black together with bright light = memory loss.

i see that the rotary took has a foam pad to put the wax on, is it best to get a tool with a foam pad. what if we used a microfiber pad? are there any disadvantages/advantages for foam vs microfiber rotary tools / polishers. also what speed was it at in rpms?

Which picture are you referring to?
I didn't see any rotaries being used to apply wax in these photos.
If you are talking about the photos where Stoops is applying wax to the black car at this TNOG:
The tool Mike Stoops is using is a G110v2 DA equipped with a Meguiar's Soft-Buff 2.0 Black Foam pad.

I believe you might have rotaries and dual action polishers mixed up!

[A]All my tools can use foam or wool
                    [B]What will you be doing?
                    [C]For what application?
[D]I apply wax at a low orbit per minute speed on my G110v2... speed 1 or 2.
