This product is for bare metal only!!! Black Chrome is usually an anodized finish and not true chrome - do not use this product on those wheels, and while we're at it, do NOT use Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner on them either!!!

I'll definitely follow any advice you offer, as I'm certainly no expert. I read the Directions and packaging on the Wheel Polishing Kit and originally thought I'd just put it on the shelf and wait til I had the right opportunity to polish up some bare metal/billet wheels. Anxiously awaiting your reply.

OK, answered my own question looking further into the website. They do use a form of clearcoat and warn against using anything with abrasives to clean them. Guess I'll just have to be happy with a good coat of wax. Thanks Mike!

Yes, and that is exactly the problem with trying to use a metal polish or chrome wheel cleaner on this finish. You can take the absolute finest, most durable chrome finish (that would normally be perfectly safe and compatible with either All Metal Polish or Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner) and then add this "Sputter Deposition and Powder Coat" finish to it...... and you've now changed things dramatically. Now, anything you apply to the wheels is being applied to this top coating, not the true chrome finish underneath it, and that's where the problems start - you run the very real risk of removing that finish. We've seen it happen far too many times, simply because that word "chrome" is still in the description.

It's sort of like polished aluminum wheels with a clear coat on them. Anything you apply to these wheels is applied to the clear coat, not the polished aluminum. Rarely does the substrate mean all that much; it's the top finish that you're working on that needs to be considered. Just like polishing the paint on a Mazda Miata - the hood and trunk are aluminum, the doors, fenders and quarter panels are steel and the front and rear bumper covers are a urethane plastic of some sort. But they are all covered in basically the same paint, so you deal with them all the same way.

Not sure where you might have heard this, but it's not correct. There definitely are abrasives in All Metal Polish.

I got the cone kit and going be using it on my wheels when it stops raining, next week. Hopefully. But my question is, what can I use to get in the tight spots of the wheels?

If you look around the lip and they have those small holes and things on them. Also in the middle, of those things, forgot the name of what they are called.

So would I just use a foam applicator pad or should I use a Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel?

Getting into the very tightest areas of those wheels is going to be fun - you can use either a foam applicator pad or a microfiber towel, whichever seems to work better for you, and just do what you can to work into those tight spots. The DynaCone in the Wheel Polishing Kit will probably reach the broader areas of those recessed parts, but not into the corners. You might be able to use a dremel tool with a polishing wheel attachment too.

Hmm... Received All Metal Polish in a sample pack from Meguiar's.... I don't have anything polished metal on my car... So I tried it on my cousin's car.

Didn't have the rotary at the time so I just did it by hand.
